Foreclosure over sledding

So who else opted to buy a forclosure this year and not ride, just me? At least I now own 5 acres that I rode on, and in my time on unemployment I rehabed my house and hopefully enjoy the sweat equity soooooooon.

I bought the foreclosure I'm living in now and slowly rehabbing the very end of 2007 during the first rounds of auction fire sales in my area. Saved enough on it to build a turbo Nytro. If I waited another twelve months I could've had two!

Georgetown, only 25 minutes away and a 1/3 of the price. I figure its Clear Creek county's turn for a run when we finally come out of this financial mess. Our trees are much younger and healthier too. Its unfortunate but Eagle, Summit, and Grand Counties are gonna burn big one of these years.

Just bought some property in Park County. The way I see it, Summit and Grand counties are only good "long term investments" right now. This added moisture is a saving grace this year, 'cause 1 dry summer and the beetle kill areas are gonna go up like a matchstick.
I can't believe how much $ land is going for even in rural areas of Summit and Grand when all the trees are DEAD!
Not that I wish for a big fire anywhere, but if/when it happens, I hope it bumps up the values in the surrounding areas.
