For those who are SnowChecking

From my understanding, the Polaristar or whatever extended warranty (four year option) is done through a 3rd party.

Not all dealerships are set-up to handle it, but all they need to do in order to do so, is make a phone call and give their dealership information.

That's how my dealer explained it to me.

I bought it for my '10 D8 for $800. Otherwise, it is a $1500 plan, available to add-on at any point during the original warranty period.

I'll go with 2 years because up here in Canada the deal seem different I saw 2 years 1000$ gear or 3 years so to me it's a no brainer the 2 year plus 1000$

after blowing a rod bearing and getting everything but my crankcase on my 11 replaced under warranty with 350 miles on the sled.

I suggest 4 year....

(I'm not saying this is a bad motor or sled, I still think its an awesome machine, I just love the peace of mind of warranty)

155 Assault

I am glad you are all going with Orange, they will all match my 2011 Assault! I am ordering a 2011 for my wife. I have been thinking of the standard 600 with elec start, then upgrading to clickers. I will however take the 4 year warranty.... I would consider a 2012 Assault for her if they did it in a 600.

My dealer wants $400 more for the 4 yr waranty. I thought it was a Polaris incentive. Anybody else have this same issue?
go to a new one..the warranty is free on snowcheck......if he is trying to bilk you on that..what else now or in the future? find a new dealer...

So polaris is calling the 4 year warranty polaristart esc. What is that? And what is the differance between the 4 year polaristart esc and the 2 year powertrain?
polaristar is an insurance type one,I have used it alot over the years, they cover more then polaris most of the time...the 2nd year warranty will be polaristar as well after the first year..in 11 polaris had to do the 4 yr since polaristar wouldnt put them selves out there that far with a suspect motor, they did take the 2 yr though...also the 4 yr in 11 isnt a bumper to bumper(but close to it) the 2 yr is drive/powertrain is what I was told.....

dvader your dealer might just be saying it is 400 more for the 4yr vesus the 2 yr and no access(600 retail) 400 value to him, alot of dealers around here price it the same way because very few people want the accessories and want the very best price up front, although polaris probably doesnt like it.

Personally I would take the accessories or the discount on the price, Unless they change things you can always extend the warrenty, I checked pricing last month to extend my 2010 for another 3 years(drivetrain I think) and it was around 600.....but you can only add it while it is still under warrenty..

plus you shouldn't need a warrenty past December 2012 anyway if the mayan calendar is right.......:face-icon-small-ton

Hey guys call your dealer and have him check on the 3000 mile limit. The extended warranty that you purchase at a latter date also has the 3000 mile limit. If they claim there is no 3000 mile limit have them put it in writing. Also ask to see in writing what the bumper to bumper consists of, you are going to be surprised.

Did I see some dealers asking for 500 to snow check and some asking for 250? Also is the deposit refundable withing the snow check time window?

Just asking because I would like to have options if I were to snow check a sled and then find a lightly used 2011 with low miles for a few grand lower after committing to the process.

How hard is it to sell a snow check slot later at the time the sled becomes available?

When does the snowcheck expire?

snowcheck ends april 19. should be $500.00 at every dealer for deposit. should be no problem getting you deposit back if you change your mind before the end of snowcheck. if snowcheck is over and you change your mind the dealer can usually refund your deposit if they find someone to take over your snowcheck. if they have to put it on the floor to sell it they usually won't refund your money.

talked to my dealer today and they said with the 4 yr warranty it covers everything except for wear parts like break shoes and hifax and that kind of stuff. He said that all the electronics are covered for the full 4 years as well not just the mechanical power-train.

In Canada it's a 3 yr or 2yr with a $1000 in accessories..
I just did the build your snowcheck on line and the last option I believe is called "bonus" and it gave me the choice of 3 yr warranty or 2 yr and a 1000 bux in accessories...
