Floats like a butterfly, stings like a bee.

The funniest part of this thread is everybody bit##ing about the XP, probably hasn't ridden one, much less own's one. You guys are all right about the XP costing us a lot of money, but it's because we can't wait till the weekend to go riding, and keep calling in sick to work to go. 400 trouble free miles, minus the cold hands, but I'll take that for the fun factor of the XP. The only problem I've come across of any of the XP owners I ride with, is they can't quit smiling after there done. Anybody who thinks a stock 06 Rev or stock M7 can keep up with a XP, is high in the night.

chub,
any broken shafts?
i've seen 4 drug out in 3 weeks, and there aren't that many around these parts?

Bashing? I don't think so.........

On the Doo forum one of the guys who stuck up for the XP is back on the fifth page now with a blown motor. If everyone who likes the concept of the XP buys one without reguard to the problems then you will always have problems. On the other hand if more guys like me say fix the problems, I'll buy my first Doo, maybe even you might get a good sled. Stick up for yourself.

I don't care how much fun you have on that sled, if you've got to worry about dependability , your day sucks.

Owen

One things for sure...no one in the marketing department at BRP will loose their job...They did theirs at marketing and hyping and so the coffers got lined with gold.
It does suck to be in the position you are in. Some have made runners out of them and they are saying they have a great sled and are left to defend the product, some have issues and are working them out to make them runners (what else do you do after dropping 10k) and they will be runners and they will join the ranks of the first group. Then there is the rest of the owners who will b*^&#h and bash.....Anybody else seen this movie played here before????

ok! so whats the answer? buy a sled thats a lead pig in the snow and needs 10000 worth of up grades to make it go? or one they dont build enough of and have cut out problems? thought they had it set to go! or one that doesnt get squat for up grades and is going down the tubes anway! last place in the sled market! figure out which is which? wouldnt it be nice to have a perfect sled out of the box? in the last 3yrs ive went from poo to yammie to doo! guess they all have there problems?

Our dealer has had 4 come back so far with shafts broken. Yea, that worries me, but I'm not gonna let it stop me from riding. If it was that bad, I'd go buy an aftermarket one for $175. If it breaks, It's under warrenty. Hopefully Doo will have a recall on it before it happens. All the hillclimbers are welding theres, so I'm thinking that's the way to go with it.

700 miles on my XP and love it,even more after chest deep snow yesterday! Don't feel sorry for me,there isn't another sled on the snow I'd rather have!

Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, like a seagull on a dead fish, squakking but nobodys listening.

everyone says "no way a stock ________" will keep up to an XP blah blah blah blah.

The real point is the only way an XP can keep up with ANYTHING it seems is with a tow rope tying the XP to another sled.

BRP should be taken to court over this. The 800R POS motor has been piling up on people for 2 seasons now, and yet BRP is not held accountable for the fact they HAVENT FIXED WHY THEY ARE PILING UP!!!!! They knew about the problems and just didnt care enough about their customers to fix it.

THEY HAVENT FIXED THE CLUTCHES YET EITHER!!! Still blowing belts every 30 miles for the second season in a row with a totally new clutch setup. They knew about this during test rides, magazines have even pointed that out. But BRP still realeased them because they DO NOT CARE about the customer.

Handwarmers were also faulty during test rides and they have yet to fix THAT!

BRP should be taken to the Better Business Bureau for ripping customers off blatantly and releasing a product when they KNEW it was FAULTY!!!!

Its great to say the XP has WARRANTY who cares??? UNTIL it happens to YOU and you miss out half the winter waiting for BRP to fix a problem that they knew existed. Then it sucks.

No one HATES the XP or is bashing you for owning one, we HATE the way BRP does business and the way brand loyal, pride blind people DEFEND them for that.

I rest my case! :D I'm trying to figure out why everybody that own's a different brand of sled, hates the XP so much. I haven't seen it, but if all the XP's are going down, you should be happy. Maybe somebody will talk about the sled your riding instead.

I don't hate the XP. I hate the company that builds it.
Every other maker out there at least tries to fix a known problem.
Polaris has identified 3 problems with their 800 and is in the process of fixing them. BRP won't even acknoledge they have a problem, let alone fixed em. They had the same exact problems last year and have done nothing to fix the problems.

I think the new chassis looks goofy, but that is a cosmetic issue that can be changed with ease. The engine and drive train problems are a whole other issue. They don't seem to care if there is a problem as long as people keep buying their product.

You just did bonehead, isn't there a 250 Enticer in the swap meet you should be buying for yourself?

Great old sled, at least it was dependable. Your credibility is what is at issue because of your silly rants about any one sled being so much better than all the rest. You don't get it, so keep on raving and we'll keep on realizing that your opinion has nothing to do with the sled, and everything to do with you owning one. Maturity comes a little later for some young folks, but stick it out......you'll get there........ eventually.

Not raving about anything,it's my opinion which the last time I ckecked was ok to express. Not ranting or raving and haven't said anything about the beloved Dragon in 3 weeks.

Ve If Your Saying It's A Great Sled

I believe yours is. It's nice to here some good stuff from a guy who's got a few miles on. I know you know the truth with what your given. You have noticed that others have not been so lucky, right?

Owen

I have noticed Owen,Dads is on his second engine but I don't think he would give it up.Our Dealer is really good and helps make up for the screw ups Doo has made.I'm buying a 09 sled, probably another Doo unless Cat or Polaris has something new because in there current offerings I'll take the Xp with a few problems. One trip to the Dealer in 700 miles is the same as my 05 M7 and 2 less than my 04 Vertical Edge.

My daughters stock '07 Phazer MTX is only 5-7mph slower than my stock '08 XP146X in a foot of soft snow(60-63mph). Same with the other three XP146's in our group. None of our XP's are exempt from belt problems, two have spun the jack shafts, one has welded his and the other is still untouched. Three of four have no handwarmers, three vibrate like crazy(engine), all are cold as hell to ride even with the tall windsheild, primary clutch arms have same problems as last year(sticking), gauges(alt. and fuel) don't work worth s%^t, belt cover is a joke and secondary adjustment is just stupid. When these problems are resolved(and I'm sure they will be) this will be a sled to measure all others by, but until then there's not a lot of smiles in our group.
Looks like you got a good one.

PS. I'm not joking about the Phazer thing.

well thats funny about the phazer! the best my buddies nytro would do on the lake in 6inches of fresh was 107km and my xp passed him doing 140km. problem with people with the xp is they dont no how to tune it, its not a pull and go sled, you MUST check your belt deflecton every ride, some times 2-3 times well your riding! sorry it just the way it is, as for the xp! i love mine, probably the funnest sled ive ever owned!
