Floats like a butterfly, stings like a bee.

your very right about the nuns johnny-my point was that was only a 3+ year bug,but since im a yammi expert you should ask me for advice when you want to get boosted and keep up. Until then ride what you want and stop B****ing about it.:beer;

It looks like so many are just to quick to point out any potential flaws for those that ride something else. The XP is not ideal yet, but it has some great potential. Hopefully Ski-Doo will resolve the belt and drive issues. The industry needs it to push the others into making a better machine. Otherwise, you M8 guys will always have a 700 for an 800 motor ;)

what makes you think i dont already know?

Because your always whining about it costing too much in the yamaha forums:cool:

no! thats not what i said, i said you brag about how your sleds kills a sled that cost 1/3 of yours. then call xp"s a pos! thats like me bragging my sled beats your phazer, stock for stock! would you call that a fair comparison?

the little problems that will be fixed shortly by Skidoo is a very small price to pay for a sled that is as good as Boondocking, climbing, powder hound as the xp is.!!!!! Ive had all 3 major brands and the new chassy alone is worth its weight in gold after coming off the mountian riding your *** off all day! No sore knees, back, shoulders etc. Its handling is unmatched if you can ride!

while i am frustrated with the belt and clutching problems, i think that a large percentage of xp buyers are expert riders and sense clutching problems and performance issues at a higher rate than buyers of family oriented sleds. the xp buyers are expecting the best and pushing them to the limit. My dealer is gull boats in missoula mt and they have been helping me every way they can. i usually get same day service. these solutions are going to take time but winter won't wait.

If you know how to ride, weight is not that important, it's the beginners that need those light sleds.
Let the sled and weight work for you.

What all sled owners need to do, regardless of brand is have a attitude of lets work together and resolve the issues that all makes have, rather than spend all of our time and energy *****ing about what is not right.
I bought a 06 900 RMK 159" after I researched what to do to make them run decent and after 40 miles I tore into it and did aprox. 1000.00 in mods that it needed, to be a runner.... and after that a little tweaking with clutching and gearing and now I just gas and go no problems and no compaints sofar over 1100 miles.
We must approach the issues with mind set that regardless if it is 2008 or 2016 the manufactures are not going to get it right very often.

I've never seen an xp beat a M7 or M8 they don't go any better than 06 rev. We have some in our group every time they ride i'ts at least two belts, if they take it easy. The xp is way over rated !!!!!!!!!!! They still use carbs and a chain case the same as a 1975 Panther. What technology are you paying for.

If the XP can't beat your M7 or M8,,,,,,,, The XP guys must be the biggest MO MO's ever to ride a sled... 500 miles 1 belt.. In CO the Cat's just run & hide from the XP's. Really!!!

Maybe at sea level

i find it funny that you ride a gayzer and you think your king tut with boost.... id put a stock xp against a phazer turbo anyday...

You might have a chance at sea level. Not even a comparison at say 10000'.

Isnt the formula, lose 3hp for every 1000' elevation increased?

At 10,000', your naturally aspirated Xp would be about 121 HP instead of 151, while the Phazer turbo would still be 140+ HP (dont know exactly with 10lbs boost) at that elevation. So if you wanna chance an XP against a turbo at 10,000' its your choice, but not very wise in my opinion.

The XP are going to be top dog of the stock Naturally asperated.

BUT and it's a big but. The buyers of the XP's are getting screwed and getting one to stay running till the years is over is going to be a rare feat.
I'm sorry for you guys , but reading about all the past blown engines and the fools who keep buying them, you are made for each other. You mighht get the high mark for the day , but wait till she's on the trailer to brag.

Explain this to me one more time like I'm a five year........................................ why are bashing BRP's XP again????

We have been modding sleds for years trying to achive what BRP has out of the box for around $10,000

When we modded out sled we always end up with more issues than the XP????
When built our mods from new we spent more???
AND THEY GIVE YOU A WARENTEE???

If you don't agree start teach us instead of calling us stupid%$%#@

I'm off to get my popcorn and a couple cold one's!!!!

not everyone is bashing the concept of the XP, but rather the company behind it, mostly their marketing followed by quality controls and warranty services.

I find those who beleive all the horse crap BRP feeds em hilarious

As long as the Doo dealers work with the guys who have the xp's then i wouldnt worry about it. Doo will get there crap straightend around just like all the other brands with there first year sleds.

couldn't have said it better!!!!

PSSSST. I havent bought one yet...waitin' till 2010 then make the big move over to BRP!!!!!

Then I will have owned them all and with a little time broke'em all....cause they all break....I gonna save an old m7 for back up thought.....#$%#$

for now just keep banging away on the one part here, one part there and hope I'm not the guy being towed out by an XP!!!!! That would be harsh....LOL if it happens I take picture and post it!!!!!!

Rode with two XP's last weekend one all modded already with 880 in it and one stock. And must I was pretty impressed!!! Only problem they had was the same as we all had STUCK LIKE CHUCK!!!

The funniest part of this thread is everybody bit##ing about the XP, probably hasn't ridden one, much less own's one. You guys are all right about the XP costing us a lot of money, but it's because we can't wait till the weekend to go riding, and keep calling in sick to work to go. 400 trouble free miles, minus the cold hands, but I'll take that for the fun factor of the XP. The only problem I've come across of any of the XP owners I ride with, is they can't quit smiling after there done. Anybody who thinks a stock 06 Rev or stock M7 can keep up with a XP, is high in the night.
