Flatlanders are either darn die hard.... or darn stupid!

I got sick of spending my vaction time coming out west doing fun stuff so I moved to MT.
Now I spend all my vaction time going back home NOT doing fun stuff..i.e.
seeing family
Still much happier.

In the last 10 years, I would estimate I get about 3 "good" days of riding per year
around home. (average, sometimes more sometimes less)

2 trips per year racking up 3000-3500 of windshield miles for 500-600 sled miles.

All this, and I still get excited thinking about buying a new sled!

Honestly, it really is STUPID to get into snowmobiling for a flatlander!
I'm thinking coke may be a cheaper habit!

There is plently of places to ride and this year isn't bad if you were into trail riding. Heck there is more snow in MN this year then we have had in many, many years. Remember it's only the 1st of Feb and if the past has any thing to do with it we should get 1-2 bigger storms for a lot of riding yet to come. It's just us mountain sled guys are the fools! We don't want to ride unless there is a fresh 12" around here.

I want a simply 4-6" in the metro so I can fire up the sno-cat again. I'm sitting only at 90 hours so far this season. I want 200.

This thread is to funny. I'm from PA. hell I think MN, SD,etc. is out west :D I'm still trying to figure out why I have a new 144'' sled sitting that I cant use. Its fun when we get big lake effect dumps and I can ride around the guys that are all stuck on there 3/4'' inch lug short tracks. Some day I will make it out west to ride. This site is definately a down fall for me, I see all the pics of snow and guys carving up the powder and it makes me want to just pack up and leave.

Live in the Eastern Flatlands of Canada. (Unfortunately had to move here last yr due to family and work reasons)

Have 2 mountain sleds. One is West at a buddies place and one is East at the moment used on the 50,000 miles of flatlander trails.

Both sleds at the moment are broken. Blew the Summits engine on a few weeks ago. Finally got a good dump of snow in Ontario - drove 1.5 hours to a new area - rode about 100 feet and the Cat died. After 2 hours of wrenching in the parking lot - gave up until I can get er in the shop Monday. Too bad they are calling for +12C Tuesday and rain.

The western shop called today about the Summit as I was in the middle of taking apart the engine of the Cat.

Yep - thoughts of STUPID x'd my mind.

But - I'm going to watch a couple of sled flicks tonight to make me feel better.

Cant wait to hit the snow again - one way or another.
