You kids are LUUUUCKY!!!! that sled is sooooo fun to ride!!

I might be able to throw out a few answers from my time on that machine... Eric, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on any of them!

the 5 lbs less effort every time you carve is a calc done on the force needed to 'pull the sled over'. I would interpret that (and this is the way Marty explained it to me as well but Eric can correct me if I'm wrong!) is not that that the the weight savings they are claiming but the 'work' or force it takes (or the amount LESS it takes) to maneuver the sled with the belt drive.

NO cover on the belt drive... but that belt can take one HECK of a beating so no worries there!!!

Ride experience, yes, you can notice the belt drive! The sled is really snappy and it seemed easier to bring it over on it's right side. It's pretty subtle so you need to be looking for it but I would think even that subtle change and slightly less effort is going to really add up through the course of a day of riding and keep you charging on the technical terrain that much longer!!!

The boards, yes, the work SOOOO sweet!! Killer traction and total lack of snow piling up on them!

Can't wait to hear what everyone else has to say about the 13s!!

Scott, Mike Heimbinger is coming over for the Seely ride, he's like a freaking kid he's so stoked to ride the 13s!!! You guys have fun over there!!

Ask why they put such WIDE bars on a sled that is light and so easy to throw around? Around here most guys narrow them up or swap them for a narrower "mountain" cut....not those MX bars from the '90's. :face-icon-small-dis
I would like to see the Assault post with a riser and straighter bars....this gives more fore-aft adjustability while still being able to clock the bars to the angle you desire. Feels much nicer to me!
Or just the whole RSI composite bar package for snochecks would be pimp!

Have a stock pile of these bars on the shelf, gotta use 'em up. if you like shorter bars, cut them down, simple solution and it cost about 15 min time and some new hand grips. I actually like the bars the way they are stock and wouldn't want them any skinnier.

Are the extra idlers on the skid gone? Are they smaller and located inboard?

boy there are a lot of holes in those tracks,
so how much weight do you add if you put on a non-ported track?

What is the 2013 600 rmk like? Is it the same chassie as the 800? Are there any upgrades (like a shock package) or different models?

Also what is the real "ready to ride" weight of the 800?

Soooo..."yup" answers WHICH question?

Interview with Skadi:

Q: "Did it rain today, or was it sunny?"

A: "Well, I got up about 6:30 and I got the newspaper. Then I took a shower...you should have seen how dirty my hair was...Then I ate breakfast..and I went to work...and then....."

my bad... ha! they are smaller and moved inside..

the ones on the outside are gone... replaced with ones on the inside... kind of a yes to both?? maybe?? or maybe I answered that very poorly! ha!

Retrofit

First, a big thank you to the Polaris engineers. After hearing all the little gripes, and complaints, you would think that they just unveiled a 600 lb, 60 hp turd. This is not the case. They reinvented the mountain sled and we all get to reap the benefits.

Are any of the 2013 upgrades available as a Polaris retrofit?

Running Boards, running board bars
Belt drive
A-arms
Etc?

that is the estimate for the 2012 model year, not the 13. my complete guess is $12,500

and to answer the question above, yes all these changes will apply to the 600.

they are not claiming any hp increase but the motor and mapping have been refined there there will be some. thing the 11 to 12. there is NO cover over the belt drive and the didn't do anything to midigate snow ingestion at the foot wells. i definitely see the potential for some issues but i think they would be easily resolved. the pic show is of the standard rmk model. the snowcheck will have other options. pricing and warranty details will be released march 5 at the dealers' meeting.

I was just talking to the truck driver, he is waiting on them to get back so he can haul 'em away.

I was hoping to get a glimpse but I had to get back to work. I wish I got cell phone reception at the lodge and I could have hung out a while longer. I guess I'll have to wait like everybody else.
