February Pics From the Boulderdome!

Pretty sure I read on here somewhere that anybody can climb these chutes, it doesn't take any skill or ability, all it takes is a point and chute sled making over 300 HP...........Of course the expert boondockers who say this would sit at the bottom of these chutes and piss their pants even if they had sleds that could do it. However, something tells me when it comes time to do serious boondocking you guys would have no problem keeping up with these expert light weight boondockers even on your heavy point and chute sleds.

I don't care what they say, this kind of riding is the pinnacle of what riding is today. It requires mad skills as well as big sleds and big kahunas.

Always love your pictures and the Boost vids.

Where do you think they spend 90% of their time? :face-icon-small-hap

Na, it just takes a deep wallet. Only dangerious to the sled if you dont make it, which I am guessing most Guy's are not willing to do.

Haha thanks for the great comment! Thats too funny! I always love all the deep wallet comments because its such a stupid assumption. A deep wallet is one thing i dont have!

One of my best buddies just grenaded his motor and is out for the season due to funds, everyone is tryin to pitch in any parts and labour they can to get him back on the snow. Ive said many times that sledding is not a sport but a lifestyle. I have to dedicate 98% of my summer road construction earnings to pay for this silly sport/lifestyle!

Coolest thing about mountain sledding in the last few years is that anyone dedicated can obtain a reliable high horsepower sled for a reasonable price. The playing field is more even than ever before!

Watching your sled tumble a 1000' is abit different than losing an engine. 98% of your income!!!!I guess it's all about priorities...

HandfullThrottle...trashing on guy's that don't hill climb is lame.. Could some boondockers hillclimb sure, could some hillclimbers boondock sure.. in the end it's all about what risks your willing to take, messing around in Avalanche terrain probably isnt on the top of the list for most sledders. Especially after the tragedy on Boulder Mountain last season.

I guess the avy terrain comment really shows what you "don't know". If you are reffering to those chutes...then you don't know that they slide on there own after pretty much every heavy snowfall. Even if they did slide, there probably wouldn't be enough snow in them to even cover you. Did you see any terrain traps at the bottom of any of them?
No one in our group has touched a big open hill this season, and that includes Turbo and Sugar bowl. Not sure why I even responded to your comment, because some peeps never really get it anyway.:face-icon-small-con

haha ya skiis are over rated! May in revy is better than anywhere, our logging roads often take you straight to the alpine and this season we have better low elevation snow than we've have since 1972. last year Neil road in june! this year spring riding will be better than ever!
