Jackson is cold and miserable in spring. It's also about 9000 miles from Bali.

All you need is, a buddy, Craftsman Handi-cuts, WD-40, and strong hands. Took us 40 minutes to trim my new to me 163".

Still debating this........ I trimmed the track on my 06 700 and had great results.

Better hook up on icy and hard pack snow.
Better braking
No noticeable difference in the fluff.

Standing here with the Craftsman Handi-Cut in hand staring at this track............

I've done the F-Bomb track mod on two Dragons and plan on doing it to our 2011 Pro and standard RMKs. It makes a huge difference in traction.

Do the trim first and next year when the lugs start to curl, straighten and stiffen the lugs by adding the screws.

Sears Handi-Cut is the perfect tool for the trim.

Same line of thing as you, Dootimes.. Just can't help but think them titters help with traction in the pow as they'd fold easier??

Once again I just make this crap up here at home on my computer. It's not been actually tried or tested by anybody...........sigh

What a horribly sad state of affairs. I've sold over 2,000,000 US dollars worth of aftermarket sled parts all over the world, founded one of the most successful aftermarket specialty mountain parts products on the planet, won a couple zillion races, rep'd and built brand names for four or five major players in the sled industry, and I'm going to my grave known for trimming a stupid track! WTF?

Just consider it "snowmobile philanthropy".

so how it works is the shoter lug is stiffer.. therefore it dosent fold over as much.
say,

the 2.4 inch paddle folds over .4 once under way making it a 2 inch paddle.

while the trimmed stifer paddle say at 2.25 dosent fold over so you have 2.25 paddle?

Something like that?

yea basically your lug stays stiffer and once a lug is bent over already its easier to bend it more. There will be added clearence inside your tunnel around your drivers which will reduce drag inside your tunnel which drags down your motor and robs you of track speed. There will also be a minimal gain from some weight shaved off. Thats my understanding.

Not completely Rob,
I will always remember calling you as I blasted through Boise and you LEAVING a Boise State game to run to your house and hook D and I (whom you had never met before) up with BB's and Bee Wears. And even taking two vests apart to combine sizes to fit my "Wide back". No rush, you stayed there and patiently talked us through the products and some recommended sled mods before shaking our hands and us all leaving.

I'll also not forget all the answered PM's the last few years about sled mods (and repairs :face-icon-small-con) when I know you had better things to do and none of those Pm's put any money in your pocket.

Who could forget the VERY creative ways you have worked BB's into threads for years?

The Chili Bomb will live forever !

I believe it's an unfortunate truth that most people don't appreciate the good folks until they aren't around anymore. Kinda sad, but then again, you and I don't have to worry about that now, do we !! :face-icon-small-win
