Etec XP X, Pro RMK, or Proclimb 800

I am thinking about selling my blue 09 XP X 154. I love the sled but have the same issue everyone else has. The "iwannas".

I want to go fuel injected because I hate flooding the sled. I feel like am working harder for the same riding that my friends do on an M8 and Pro RMK.

I ride my sled with the suspension very loose and the bars raised and tipped back. Skis narrow and reversed.

We ride very technical areas and I hate the trail.

I am thinking of a 2011 xp x, 2011 Pro RMK, or the Proclimb.

What would you do? Ultimately I only want to spend 10K after I sell my sled.

On another note, what is mine worth? HPS can, Rooster built clutching, and a riser that I might keep.

I would go with the xp. But its up to you. See if you could try all three then get what you feel more comfortable on. Just my opinion.

quick responses. Apparently everyone else is already thinking of snow. I did the demo on the new e-tec on a powder day and really liked it. The demo on the Pro RMK was in a raining down poor but it was still fun. Your probably all right and any one will be awesome.

Has anyone heard of any recalls or service that need to be done to the new E-tec? Were they reliable for the first year?

How about a price for my current sled? Any chance I can get 8 out of it?

Going for a xp to the others will feel a little odd, as in after you get a few good rides in on the others it would give you a better read on what they are. Like said all good. I ride the very steep in the trees stuff, the pro is a great sled, I just don't want to buy 2 of them to know I will always have one running. If it wasn't for there engine I would have prob bought one last year. The M800 is untested and who knows, its got the right engine but I wont be buying one until I ride it. From my experience and others the xp wont even do what my 09 Tm8/kmod will, so no thanks for me. Just my opinion.

If you love your current XP, and your dealer is good, go etec. I really like the way the new etecs w/ the narrow front end handles. Like Wyoboy says, the others will feel wierd. I couldn't get used to the Pro RMK when I rode it. But mostly I think it was because of the bar width of the Pro Tapers. The Pro's come up on the snow extremely nice but seem to lack the punch of Cat or Skidoo, but it sure doesn't make them less capable. I've never felt uncomfortable on a Cat.

Whats a Tm8/Kmod? Turbo?

I bet a stock sled will never run with a turbo.

The kmod suspension makes as much difference as the turbo, so I thought I would include it in the statement.

When I follow stockers or stay low enough on low boost for the stocker to ride the same area they can't follow, even if its a straight line what ever, the pro is the closest, until it pops a motor.

I could also do anything the others could on my 09 piped m1000 (weighs a little less than a M8).

I had an Etec this past season and really liked it. I rode a new 2012 Freeride and loved it so much, I called the dealer and ordered one. The new AC looks interesting but AC wouldn't provide BC with a demo, so its pretty hard to say how it works, and I'm not going to just take their word for it.

If you like the over the motor steering, the Etec would be an easy choice, If you want vertical steering, either Polaris or AC, mind you, AC has both steering set ups available.

I know the Etec rips, so I would say stick with Doo. The new narrow ski stance makes a huge difference, really nice.

The question of what sled to buy comes up a lot. I know you are looking for input but I already see biased comments. I'm biased and I love my Pro (and no, I haven't "popped" my motor - wtf?). What I really like about the Pro is that it does get up on the snow so well and side hills amazing. I had a D8 before that and it wouldn't come close to that handling.

That being said, I really think you should drive each. I'd let you ride my Pro if you were in my area. Good luck. You'll be happy you have a new sled regardless of which you go with.

If you ride technical areas like in the trees, there is nothing that will even come close to keep up with a PRO!!! Get the PRO!!! :)

Come to cooke city or beartooths next year and you can be the first to prove me wrong. Please

In your opinion. Is there i big difference between the kmod kit and the full susp? Other than the shox?

are you talking the kmod conversion vs the full already setup skid, or compared to something else. If your talking about the conversion vs the full skid the conversion is limited to the shock valving and cannot be adjusted, although it is way better than the stock setup and allows amazing control and flotation I can tell that it is limited, the full setup with the 20 clicker piggy back raptors and triple rate springs built specifically for the kmod speaks for itself, if you can't get that dialed in for your style then you haven't tried. I have the conversion with ice age rails now, I will be getting the setup this coming season. If you want more info of what I think pm me. This skid is what clearly gives the advantage,

I doubt it was the stock sled that couldnt keep up, I have ridden with Tsleds for the past three years and go where they go. May not take the same line but I make my sled get there. Its the rider...and no duh a stock sled cant keep up in a straight line. :kev:

You can get close with a stock sled, thats not what I am debating, but you can't take the lines and keep going with this kind of control. I would rather run a stock skid than the last year model and earlier t-skids, IMO. If you want to debate it start another thread or pm me,

I only stated it because I would rather have my sled (the old m chassis) setup this way it currently is than a stock pro and it cost the same money.
