I never said things were easy for me, I just don't go spouting all over an internet forum about how crappy my life is.....

Negativity is the only vibe you put off!!!

Sure and what you are running off at the mouth is positive.:rolleyes: You really have no idea what is going on in my life, nor will you ever. I never said my life is crappy.

I have 2 beautiful children, I live close to all of the things that I hold close to me. The only thing that isn't going well is the job front at that is no fault of mine. I have been to Routt, Eagle, Grand and Summit Counties chasing leads down for the last 5 months and I KNOW that there isn't any suitable work to support a family at this time. I am not a stranger to this area and I have many friends up here that have had to lay-off entire crews just to be able to try and salvage their businesses. And to have someone such as yourself or J-fly come in and say there are plenty of jobs is BS!

The fellow that started this thread wanted info and I offered what I know, which is the God's Honest Truth! He was asking if there was work in his scope, which there is not. Yeah, someone could get a job tossing fast food over a counter, slopping floors with a mop, or whatever else there is. But as far as jobs go that make it possible for a person to settle down, buy a home and raise a family, (which is what he is wanting, I assume) no, there isn't any.

I am in Land Development, engineering and land surveying. ALL of these businesses are on very thin ice, struggling to stay afloat just to be there when the economy recovers. They don't have any employees and are just doing what they can with the owners doing what work is there.

Just because they have a master’s degree, doesn't mean they're a fit for the job. Hell if I have my masters in accounting, this by no means puts me ahead of the pack when it comes to health care.

Luckily we have this new president that’s going to save use all, even give the less fortunate heath care! What a scam I tell you!

I'm way off topic! CO is a great place!
I guess some masters degrees are easier to get than others. Some require an education. The point is, even people with advanced degrees and plenty of training are having a hard time finding work. They looking for anything just to pay the bills. Even if they are over quallified. No training needed to be an O.R. aide. All OJT.

Easy to sit in the cheap seats and tell others to get a job without knowing all the facts.
The reason we have OSHA is because too many people died or were injured doing unsafe jobs. Working for people who were trying to make a buck by exploiting people just trying to survive. So your idea is that PJ should take an ilegal unsafe job and risk death or injury. Then who will take care of his family?
Doesn't add up in my books. But then I'm not an accountant.

We do agree on one thing.. CO is a great place.

If you can't find politics in Summit County you either can't read or don't speak the language.
Not knowing what a "liberal" is? Ignorance is bliss...time to polish off the ol' Obama sticker eh?

;-)

Maybe i just dont care about politics and thats why i live in Summit County. All we care about up here is good snow and good weed. And for the record i dont have any Obama stickers to polish. Obama is just as full of **** as George Bush, and Republicans and Democrats are really just one party.

Good weed, LOL. And yes, you are correct sir. They are all the same. Glad to see you have such an insight to the world around you. Maybe polish off the " Free Tibet sticker", or "Praise Ja" . The world is such a better place stoned and out of touch with reality..no wait, I get smarter when I'm stoned....I thinks, what are we talking about....

Good you found a job. Nobody I know, including myself can find one and I look everyday. DEAD DEAD DEAD!

But PJ, For J-Fly a good job is one that he can do stoned out of his mind. Dishwashing, flippin Burgers etc. Housing - 4 room mates and a bunkbed.

You really need to start smoking pot so that you can detach yourself from taking care of your family. Why do you think they call it dope?

HA HA! I was thinking the same thing. BTW, I love the sig line:beer;:beer;

Colorado is a great place. If you want a job and arent an lazy sob. ( no names) you can find a job and enjoy this great state.

I want a job and I am certainly not lazy. In the area where I live there are NO JOBS! Myself and many others are looking and nobody can find anything that will begin to help dig out of the 6 month lull that we have been in. I am educated in the field of Civil Engineering, Land Surveying and AutoCad drafting and design. Every Engineering firm, Surveying firm or design firm in the 4 adjacent Counties (Grand, Summit, Eagle and Routt) are running the owners only.

If you know so much please share the information. There aren't hardly any labor jobs to be had either. I have a home, two children and a wife. Any job that I work in HAS to be sufficient enough to provide daycare and commuting expenses or it is not suitable. So before you run off spouting your mouth about crap you know nothing about you should know the situation.

On a side note, I never said that Colorado wasn't a great place. I love it here. I am close to hunting, fishing (5 lakes within 30 minutes and two within 10 minutes), ATV trails, single track for dirt bikes (right from my front door), camping, 4 wheeling and other great outdoor pastimes.

Might be a good time to get into the Mtn. Pine Beetle biz! Spray rigs are getting 15 to $20 a tree and there's not much to it and little investment. Hazard is slight. Tree removal is getting outrageous money too. Around here they're getting $100 per tree for 8" ers. I made 800 bucks this weekend getting 2.5 cords of firewood for the winter :D Did a neighbor a "favor" and cut 35 smaller ponderosa off his lot. The pros quoted 3 grand for the same work. A busy guy could make a chit load of money and take winters off to ride!

Exactly what I was thinking. I was going through dillon earlier today and saw that they are finally starting to get some big clearcut areas showing.

YOu are negative. Ive gotten bad vibes from you since i started posting here. You think your too good to work at a fast food place, thats why you dont have a job. $10 an hour is better than $0. And you can always start at the bottom and work your way up. I know lots of places hiring around Summit, and could get a couple different jobs tomorrow if i wanted. Sure, they are not glamourous, or super high paying, but its better than being unemployed. I make $50,000 a year tossing pizza over a counter, and i started at $8.00 an hour four years ago. I live in a house with my girlfriend who makes $60,000 a year working at a patent lawyers office.

So what i smoke weed. Michael Phelps smokes, and won 8 gold medals. Kiss my *** you lazy redneck prick. At least i got a job. YOu might as well start smoking weed, your already sitting around the house doing nothing anyway. Isnt that what potheads are supposed to do?

I live with my girlfriend in a half a million dollar house. We combined make $100,000 grand a year. She has a daughter that we have no problem taking care of.

I smoke pot. So do a lot of successful people. You are ignorant, and uninformed. Kiss my *** redneck.

Also, i would have no problem having 4 roommates and sleeping in a bunkbed. You have to make sacrifices to live in a special place like Summit.

It's basically a high pressure washer with a modified (reamed out tip), and a tank to mix chemicals in. I put one together for my own spraying rather than pay for the next 5 or ten years. Then you gotta get the word out. I'm late again, see ya, gotta go to work!! Best of luck Ralph;) Can't be easy finding a job up there now.

LMFAO, I moved out of Summit years ago. Special as in overcrowded, overbuilt. Maybe I should list what I make. Impressive! Half a million dollar house in Summit? How many axles does it have? Man, put the pipe down and step away from your delusion.... Drug addict raising a child, Congrats!

J-Fly, First of all, I am not lazy. Up until I got laid off last November I was working 50 or more hours a week, living out of a hotel in Rawlins, WY and coming home to my family on weekends. I am 35, have a college education with a degree, 2 beautiful boys and a pretty nice house. Secondly, I am not going to don a stinky uniform to work next to some High School kid making the same paycheck I am making. For me to do what you said I would have to put both kids in daycare and just so you know that is $1100 a month. I would be working to put my kids in daycare and that just doesn't make sense.

I have a ton of experience in Civil Engineering, Land Surveying and AutoCAD drafting and design, carpentry, remodeling, landscaping, heavy equipment operation, some small engine repair, some electrical, some HVAC, painting. fencing, and a few other things that make your fingers bleed when doing it. I am bringing in some cash (more than what fast food pays) to pay some bills but not even close to what I was bringing in the last few years.

Bushy, thanks for the well wishes and it is very hard to find something steady right now. I am looking and I do have a couple irons in the fire. I have had quite a few peeps come tell me that I should do a landscaping business directed at improving the first impression of a home so it could sell.
Could you please PM me more info on the spraying thing? I have a pressure washer so I am good there. Where do you get the chemicals. They don't have any here in K-Town so I would need to know where to go and I can pick up a pretty good chainsaw in Granby. Thanks for the tip.
