If you stay long enough on Boulder, this is a typical shot at the end of the day, and on a busy day, I saw 4 trips in a row last week.
Thought I would share this shot, maybe someone has more like it!

looks like an XP. I wonder if they get a break on the cost because they are so light?

I can see their marketing guys coming up with something like - lightweight Shafts to minimize the cost of the helicopter ride.

Have you talked to Raceu4it to find out what was on fire in down town Dewinton Wednesday morning? Saw fire truck and lots of smoke from the highway.

Yup, the XP has the highest incidences of helicopter trips off Boulder mountain this year ! Who would of thought !

We were riding Keystone last week and my brother in-law's sled (06 800 Rev) calved the engine. We had to get it lifted out as well.

i thought it was like $750 an hour

More like $1500.00 an hour. I have been choppered out from the Pemberton Ice Cap with a blown stator once and it was $700.00 (25 minutes) and once with a blown motor from Grizzly Lake $750.00 (1/2 an hour). That is only if you pay them cash. The second time, the pilot dropped it right on my sled deck!

maybe dumb question, but do ride in the copter on the way out or not?

I got to ride in the chopper the first time I got choppered out but the second time, the could not get to me in time before it got dark so the guy flew in the next day, hooked on to the sled and dropped it on my deck next to the highway. Most guys I have seen get choppered do get to ride in it.

They make this fancy invention that will help avoid a $800 air lift out......its called - a tow rope.

we have hooked three sleds together to tow one out of a bowl, and have even gone so far as to take a motor out of a sled, take it home, re-build it and re-install it on the mountain.

IMO, you only need a heli if what remains of your sled won't fit in 3 garbage bags or less. :D:p
