Eagle Valley (Sicamous) 12/13 Updates

We have had quite a bit of precip in Sicamous over the last few days. Thursday it was reported that it rained up to 5000' but snow above that. Another sledder reported 24cm fresh at Eagle Pass with a 300+cm base.

The logging is done at Eagle Pass but there will still be some parking challenges on busy days. Check out www.sledsicamous.com for the parking info on all four hills.

Stay safe out there this weekend with warm temps and wet snow!

I was sledding on Owlhead near Sicamous on Sunday (7th). Grooming is done for the season but we were able to drive up 7km with no problems and had good snow on the trail from there to the alpine. There was about 6" of fresh on a hardened base. This time of year we can get big dumps that give lots of powder but it can set up within a day or two so it is difficult to predict if you will be in powder or touring on hard pack - either way we always still have fun!

Can anybody tell me what blue lake is like right now. Heading to the interior next week for a few days to ride.

Sicamous Parking

I was up at Blue Lake on Sunday(14th) with lots of powder and sunshine!
This is the latest I have on parking:

Blue Lake: We parked at 6.5k with our pickup/deck and had very little gravel above that. I saw some large trailers at about 6k -there are a few corners that still have deep snow on the way up but did not seem to slow people down (mostly bared off to 6k)

Owlhead: The road is plowed to 7k. I was told yesterday that there are a few patches of gravel above that but not too bad.

Queest: I was told that on Sunday, pickups were going to the 6.5k lot with some deep snow ruts at 6k but good traction. I'm not sure if any trailers were up there. The trail was reported as fairly smooth.

Eagle Pass; The road is plowed to 4k and the last I heard 1 week ago there are water bars up to about 12k and I'm not sure how much is baring off.

Enjoy your spring!!

Hey guys is there any snow left up there? I want to get week end of the 4th of May, maybe too late? I have a truck with deck so accessing through logging roads wont be a problem. Ive never been here yet and wouldn't know where to go. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

lots of snow left up there, see the video just posted above your post. It might be spring slush conditions but I have no doubt that there will be lots of it left. Get a map from the local snowmobile club or sled shop and that should give u a good idea of how to get around up there. Its a beautiful area - enjoy!
