I'm in the process of moving to vernon, will be there after christmas for 2 week visit. I have never sled the area, will have 3 experienced riders with 2 new riders. What areas would you suggest? Also wondering about hunters range?

Blue Lake is a great area for a mixed group. The trail is groomed from the valley bottom near Malakwa 24km to the cabin. There is a small bowl (the Bunny Hill) in front of the cabin. There is also lots of meadow riding. For the more aggressive riders in your bunch, there are good climbs nearby.

Hunters Range is accessed East of Enderby and is also a great area for a mixed group, check out: www.huntersrange.com

The Owl Head trail was groomed for the first time last night (Wednesday). You should be able to unload at the bottom staging area that has been expanded to better accommodate busy days. There are reports of great snow in the area as it has not been used much yet.

My brother and I were thinking of Crowfoot or Hunters Range. If anyone is interested in showing us around please let me know. We're going Friday and Sunday, possibly Saturday. We have avy training and don't take uneducated risks. We mostly like tree riding. My name is Ryan.

First half mile from the staging area for Owlhead is pretty well gravel, but after that its fine. Still lots of great deep stuff once you get past the cabin.
Trail into Queest was getting a little pounded. Some good riding in the trees on the way up and drop down past Radio Towers there's lots of fun stuff. Hopefully more snow soon. Couple more days left, don't know where to tomorrow, hope my body holds up..lol

Eagle Pass Groomed to the Gas Drop

Some new Fresh last night in Sicamous! Also, the Eagle Pass trail was groomed all the way to the gas drop for the first time last night. The Xmas crowds have gone home so the hills are wide open with fresh snow.

Heavy Snowfall Warning in Sicamous

Should be lots of Pow in the hills. Its been snowing heavy in town for the past 36 hours with more to come.:face-icon-small-hap

About 20cm fell in town as of this morning (Tuesday). The Groomer reported 40cm fresh at the Blue Lake cabin Monday night. We have another heavy snowfall warning for tonight with up to 10-25cm in the valley! Should be a great weekend.

Was out Monday with Rene st onge and it was deep real 3 ft.. 4-4.5ft near chicos gourge.heading back out tomorrow with jr his photographer to rip up some pow.

Spent Thursday up at Blue Lake in waist deep powder. Left lots untouched though due to empyt fuel tanks!

Are any of these 4 places good to take my wife. Her and I are heading to sicamous for a little r&r. We are taking the sleds with us. She isn't very experienced.

Any advice would be great

Blue lake is a great spot. Nice ride in and nice cabin as well. Both of you would find it enjoyable I am sure.

Boulder is over in Revelstoke. I have not spent much time there but I have taken lots of new riders with me up to Blue Lake. It is a nice 20+km ride up to the cabin with a gentle bowl out front to play and learn on. South of that bowl there are lots of meadows to work with. If you want some more agressive terain, you can head north from the cabin down to Blue Lake and there are fun areas around there. There is usually lots of folks around the cabin that will point out where to go. Have fun!
