Does PRO RMK Secondary Float this year?

I am away from my garage, and I did not look to see if it does.

On my '03 REV and '09 Assault I built a small bushing to go between the secondary clutch bolt and secondary shaft, then flipped the stepped retaining washer and this gave it like .025" float or something.

Anyway, can someone pull on their secondary and tell me if it floats axially?

And if not, why I should not do this to this engine/chassis?

Yes it should float-first you set the offset and then the float. The float reduces the offset so you set offset to spec and then let the clutch float of .030 to .050 reduce the offset.

Great information Ron, as always.

Now about the clutch offset tool shown in the diagram.

I remember much debate the last two seasons regarding the Clutch Alignment Tool, and its use on the IQ CFI 800.

In regards to different manufacturers, their offset values and tolerances in the tool itself.

Was there ever a consensus on which tool (SLP, Polaris, WPS, etc.)
and which initial values to use?

And does this debate apply to the new PRO chassis?

I don't think there's much room for debate except for the cost of the Polaris tool. The others try to get there but there is more room for error IMO. This tool is still applicable in the Pro because the drive, driven clutches and belt remain the same.

Interesting because now they are calling for .060" float versus the old spec of .030".....

New spec.....

IMO every secondary on every sled ever built should float so it can find the best place to run on its own.

I took all the spacers off my pro and put them in the spare spare parts bin.
