Just got powerjets installed in my carbs. Can anyone give me a jetting baseline to get me started?
40mm round slides trail ported, case ported, and crank shop pipes and I ride right around 2000 feet. Oh and its a 1200.
what kid of problems could this create? this is the powerjet fitting someone put in for me
probably some of this
Woody told me to let you all know about a few things he has noticed and confirmed on the dyno, regarding the CS's pipes for these motors.
As you may or may not know, both he and his son has 1200 IQ's with chromed Crankshop pipes.
You would think that two sets of pipes, built by the same company and for the same motor and chassie would be the same.
Or at least close. ( we understand these are built to order)
But....... they are not!
Comparing them visually, mounted on the two 1200 IQs sitting side by side, it's easy to see what set will perform better! Smoother bends, better welds etc etc.
I've seen it with my own two eyes, so no question..
So, to remove variables, both sets were tested on the same engine.
No surprice, but the poor looking set dynoed about 10 hp less and also had a lower than the ordered and advertised 8500rpm peak. (8200)
I also have CS pipes on my 1200, and it will be in the dyno soon.
Hopefully my CS-pipes are as good as they can be!
That said, SLP-pipes are by far better pipes!
Also dyno tested and confirmed.
Unfortunately it's hard to fit them all exiting to the right.(But we will try)
And I'm sure someone out there have fitted them allready.
CS-pipes aren't bad, by no means, but there's more potential in these motors!
And if you have a good set of CS, only 10-15hp up to SLP.
