I am sure a 1200 will climb a tree but how does it boondock? Is it at least manageable?

How is their fuel economy? I realize it will not be great but is everyday only a half day due to fuel?

Just day dreaming about a couple motor options for myself. Neither of which will ever happen.

Thanks

I think the WC tripple boondocks better than the twins mainly because of the power! IT OVERCOMES THE LITTLE BIT OF EXTRA WEIGHT

I went on a long trip saturday, with 2.5 gallons extra and the stock edge tank, I was the same as all the rmk 8's and MC 9's I rode with

DO IT! you wont regret it!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I just need to convince the wife I NEED this!!!

I have been debating a Carl's Cycle 910 or possibly one of these. I guess on this thread the general consensus would be the WC Tripple huh

910 would be a bit cheaper/easier, but its a custom aftermarket motor, more finacky, harder to get pistons/cyls and such if you squeek it. I have a buddy going through this problem right now with his BMP prostock 700, two+ weeks out to get pistons! I like going to a dealer and picking up parts, plus the 910 wont run even close to a 1200, and we all know the reputation the 910 has!

Once the WC is done you will rarely have a problem if its done correctly, I have a friend with 10-12K miles on his 1050!!!! Two sets of pistons for prevenative mait.!

theres 2 1200s in our group. another friend built a 910 last year and now hes going to be adding another 910 cylinder on it. 1365...so if the guy that built the 910 to roll with the 1200s is doing a 1365 this summer, well that should tell ya right there.

3 is better than 2

Ok it;s real

I just got my 1200 done and have went on two rides,it;s in an edge chassis and i will be able to handle this just fine. at first i thought to heavy but now, oh yeah baby. fuel is a problem if your on the grip alot for sure. 33 percent more than an 800. Oh baby i love this thing. i had a 910 for three seasons and it was the stuff but now it;s a whole new game And oh GAME ON:face-icon-small-coo

Wow, that is impressive. :eek::D

Just a little side note here about a 1200's little brother. BB 800, we were fooling around the other day and sent (3) M 1000's packing home.
Drag racing. Heads up with standing starts, rolling starts etc. No matter what they did, they could not even begin to run with the 8 hundy. Long live the BB motors, 2 or three holes!!!!

I think if you are going to compare gas consumption to the 800, I use about 3-4 more gallons than the twins, but I only have to take on pull at the hill, when the twins have to take half a dozen or so. Now if you are going to take pull for pull, you are gonna be empty in a few hours and all you buddies on twins are gonna be PIST..

I wouldnt waste your money on the 910. and putting a 1365 together is gonna be serious extra case work.. I would have some better studs made if it was my project, seen way to many broken cylinder studs for my likings. 290 hp 1365 would be wicked though...

hi- guys neat thread. i also built one of these beasts [1200cc 02 edge chassis, crank shop pipes] this summer. these things pull awesome!
i have about 400 miles on it. absolutely no problems w/ motor.
last time out i kinda had an encounter w/ a tree! anyway, my pto & center pipe is smashed. if any of you have edge pipes, i am looking to buy. my email= myerstownm@aol.com or call 610 693 1014 ask for mike. thanks

Are you guys runnin a T-Stat? I am with the weep hole opened up a bit but it seems that going down the groomed trail I can hit 160-170 fairly quick? Im having an issue with the track im running not flipping much snow on the coolers which is most of the problem, im running a full length U-Cooler but no bulkhead cooler, if theres any pow its 140 all day long, just wondering what everyone else is doing?
