1050 wc with lecton 48

My buddy has a wc 1050 motor and he was running at 5500-6500 feet
and can't get it to rev.He is running 64 grams and team green spring and in the back clutch 58/38 with a black/red spring...geared at 21/40.
He is also using lecton 48mm carbs with 7-2 needle
The problem is not reving and exhaust temps are low at attitude
When he is lower down around 2500 feet it seems to run better...
Does any buddy have any ideas whatz up???:beer;

Thanks jayman

I agree with Rob, pig rich.
That is tall gearing. With 3.0 pitch 19/41 and with a 2.52 pitch 20/40 are about the tallest ratio I have had success with in deep/pow and that is pushing it or you start to "tip over" with gearing for normal riding and see higher belt use.

...wondering also if 48mm might be a bit large for the 1050 ....

I was thinking that myself if the carbs are just to big..
He has a set if 44 carbs, I think he should try those.
If using the 44 carbs any buddy have a starting point for jetting??

Thanks jayman

Wc 1500

All you WC guys - I have a 1500 WC motor, its a PSI and is in cmx chassis for sale. makes way over 300hp , i wanted to drag race it but the cmx chassis isnt so good for that (m10 suspension) and I dont have time/money to put motor in different chassis. sled is in VT leave email for pics more details

my email gpkl@comcast.net

Also if anyone knows more about this motor I would love to learn more about it, i think it use like a 90.85 mm piston, dont know much else ( i had the head off to examine the pistons) it does have psi exhaust valves and terminator 52mm carbs

I ran my 1200 to night (daaaaaaam) talking about Track rachiting 159 Finger:beer;:D:D:D:D:D:D

I hear ya. I know every change I made was better cause I would have to tighten my track more:D Definently going with anti rachet drivers next time around. What tracks are you mountain guys running?

I think the next evolution of these motors is turbo charging.
mmmmm just half of an atmosphere would be wicked unlike needing 1.5 like a 4 stroker........

Jayman, sent you a pm....

You missin the W/C 4z??

I have a set of new 44 mikuni carbs bored to 46's for sale 300 obo...
No cables or brass in them..

You dont have extros????!?!?!?! WOW! I could easily slip mine and the track was fairly tight!!!!! Now its as tight as a set of standard drivers to not make it rachet!!!

alot of crap to stuff in there but it can be done! Just make sure to have that digi camera charged up!!!!

Hey Jim, Ya know I was thinking of asking Lynn the same question. He sure likes this forum. Hey Brother, do yourself a favor, just build another one and lets go play.

To all, for those coming to Baker Shootout on April 5. Those who know and stay at the Three Rivers Inn in Sedro-Woolley. They are on the finishing stagges of a new Alfy's Pizza right next door. It will also have a sports bar.

Ya know, Im just trying to look out for my brother riders. God forbid I get called to clean up some mess on the highway.

Just trying to open the door up for Rob to spill the beans on his monster.
Out of all the turbo twin's I have rode, his was the best and was kit built by himself. So, when I hear that he was building a TWC, I got wood!
Now Rob, the door is wide open! Tell all!

Hi my name is Rob and i have a turbo problem.(you guys say hi) Thanks for the kind words Lynn about my sleds. I have a 1050 watercraft turbo that is on its 2nd year, yes i haven't said much about because i just didn't get enough time on it last year to get some of its issues worked out(Real job no time off/lack of snow). Any how now that things are back to normal i can say that she is really good. I hate turbo sleds that are undriveable, meaning engagement over 5000 to get around lag, i cannot live with that. So on all my turbos one of the first criteria is that it has to feel like a normal sled to whoever is on it, and yes i know you guys are gonna call bs on this, but it can be done. When lynn rode my 700 turbo i was engaging at 4200 rpm and no lag it rarely got beat even out of the hole. This was an aerocharger setup, but even the autos can be gotten this good. Now that the turbo craze is in full force, there are alot of people that are not telling the truth about alot of these kits. Way more problems than they let on. PSI had pics of there 600 hp 1500wc that looks really good at shows, but has never run long enough to take the nipples off of the track, and he has a box of pistons to prove it. That is not a turbo it is a show piece. I have ran turbos for years without engine failures(polaris 700 turbo, yamaha viper turbo (Phils sled sorry Phil i am a poo guy), 1050 turbo) its called patience. Also turboing tripples is NOTHING like turboing a twin so all you guys thinking i have a twin turbo how hard can a tripple be, not even close. Single pipes and a tripple turbo do not work. Tripple pipes and a tripple turbo take alot of massaging to work. I have 3 sets of head domes that will never be used again(don't work), i have 2 sets of carbs that don't work for this application. It has been a huge undertaking, but its been worth it. OH yea and fitting it under the hood BIG job.

there Lynn its a start

Rob

PS thanks to Lynn, Brad Wursten, and Indy Dan for the help in getting the motor going.
