Dirtbikes, anyone?

Hi Bushy.
I ride about half the time with Katherine(wife) and the rest with Ray and Mark. Had an epic ride today up on the Uncompahgre. Some primo A class single track.
Just some more "desert" riding out here on the western slope.
We saw some quads on the transfer sections but not another bike at all on the single track sections. On 4th of July weekend!! Nice tacky soil from the rains last night!
The pics don't begin to show the difficulty and the steepness of the climbs.

Ray all steamed up. Boiling over from all the rocky climbs.

We got in, we got out, and nobody got hurt!!

Mark

Mark, you should have been there. Snowshoe is an interesting trail. 1300 foot drop in less than a mile. White knuckle all the way down. Ray is amazing for only riding a couple of months. That loop is SOLID (A) rider material and he rode it like he owned it.
All in all a pretty good day except for our 2 hour "side trip" on the game trail.

Gunsight-Evans-Elk basin loop

Tired, sore...dreaming of scree fields.

Rode Gunsight pass up through RedWell basin, over summit..past "dead end" sign.. (only dead end for Jeeps & ATV's!)

Accross the west face of Evans basin on a filled-in path that no god-fearing mountaingoat would travel.
Literally 2 miles of 6" wide sort-of single track formerly etched into the face of a 50+deg wall.

Summited ridge between Evans and Elk basin... (lost two bikes/riders down a washed out sand wall)
Rode Elk Basin-Standard Mine road all the way back to Kebler in the dark. (shh! Don't tell USE/TCM)

We were fighting for daylight, so not too many pics.
Exhausted.

MtnDoo.
