Did some rewiring last night..put some pro tapers on the XP.

Thanks for the compliments guys. This is not an easy task, took alot of planning and at least 25 solder connections 4' of heat shrink and 6' of 20ga wire to make it all work and look good.
I can post all the wires colors that need to be hooked to what, as for pics i only got what i posted and would have to take apart all the console/ headlight assy again to get more.
Switches are military grade from a local electronics store that supplies the industrial sector around here and rubber boots to make them water proof.
Cost for switches was nearly $200.

We have a small rocker switch that is Hi/Low and off. We also have two types of switches for kill and reverse. One is standard plastic and the other is billet aluminum. The nice thing about using them as a kill switch is if you accidently bump against it while climbing it will pop back up so your engine doesn't die and throw you over the bars in a bad spot.

Those look silly. With the bars so high you lose torque pulling the sled on its side. But if that is what blows your skirt up then go ahead. Good job on the relocating of the switches

I like that second one really nice finish. Here's another really trick kill switch that could also be used for the RER.

I can usally give a good pull on something that is at my arms length not at my chest. When you pull on a rope do bend your arms to your chest then pull or your arms at full length?

Either way it is your sled and nice shop by the way

When i'm standing my arms are only slightly bent about at my belly button. Riser is only 3/4" taller than the stocker, then bar is a couple.

Thanks for the comp on the shop. Its where i run my business out of, pretty much spend every waking moment here wishing i was sledding!! lol

6'1" and they are perfect, much more set up like my dirt bikes. you have to try it to realize how sh!tty the stock bars are.

I know the stock bars are ****ty but I like the bar just no the riser. I quess from youre pics they look like their about a foot taller, Is there any play in the stock controls to raise the riser another 1" say?

I rechecked the heights and they work out to be 3" taller than stock. They are exactly event with my belt when i stand with knees slightly bent(riding positon).

There is room to go up a couple inches with all the stock wiring. may have to reroute the brake cable though.

Hey Revdawg, I was searching for info on moving my controls off the handlebars of my 09' XP and found your link. You did a nice job and would like to do the same. Would you happen to have the wiring info / colors available to share? It would be a huge help since you have already been through it. Have my sled apart (again) doing the top end and figure now is the time!
Thanks for your help.

Hey man. Revdawg passed away in an avalanche last January in Sicamous. We should start another thread for doing this though, or keep this one going. I was thinking of doing the exact same thing to mine.
