I saw the same thing on that aftermarket VR. I talked to 3 different people that had tried them and all 3 had them fail and kill the ECU... not nice.
My brother built a protection circuit for his Dragon so that if the VR dies, the feed to the computer senses the over voltage and shunts it to ground. I've tried to convince him he needs to offer it as a kit.
