if Doo Is doing a belt drive I hope they tilt the motor back a little bit. Every belt drive turbo Doo I've ever been around seems to have a belt problem. Dealer Claims or Theory is the Doos have such a long distance from the Secondary Shaft to the Drive Shaft it's too long and too much torque. I always thought a belt is a belt but I guess that makes sense why they have not gone to belt drive if that's the case.I bet a belt drive on the game changing doo.
The issue with a belt drive is the length of the belt, to utilize a belt short enough in the current chaincase without a tensioner, limits gear ratio selection. Those cog belt do not like to be bent in the opposite direction. Another is rolling resistance, a chain has less rolling resistance, the only benefit of a belt drive over a chain is weight, and doo’s chain setup is very light. It just to bad the update didn’t utilize the light weight bottom sprocket, but with the two piece driveshaft, I understand why they went that route.if Doo Is doing a belt drive I hope they tilt the motor back a little bit. The Beginning of the Rev Chassis was game changing, but I also think fuel injection, 850 motor na, factory turbo were all game changing at the time for performance wise. I think if we’re really changing the game for Skidoo is a new generation whether we get out of the rev chassis or we are getting down to Polaris weights. I no doubt think if we could shed 20lbs I think skidoo will be the best mountain sled available. Many Polaris riders say if they could have the skidoo power plant it would be the absolute best and many doo guys say if we had the Polaris weight. Specifically the doo riders with the weight issue, but is saving weight game changing? Not so much. Now think back.
What was the last LEGITIMATE "GAME CHANGER" in Mountain Sledding
Shot, factory turbos, 3” 3.5” pitch track. RER, single pull start Direct injection To name a few, but its an opinion. Now think back.
What was the last LEGITIMATE "GAME CHANGER" in Mountain Sledding??
Even a mxz 200 in the states is $5750 on sale…. That’s a 3-8 year old use snowmobile…..Shot, factory turbos, 3” 3.5” pitch track. RER, single pull start Direct injection To name a few, but its an opinion.
Now buddy tracking between brands IMO would be a game changer.
I just seen a edit from a couple of female ambassadors that was kinda weird/stupid, it was an enactment of a sled giving birth.
Edit, thinking of that stupid edit, maybe that a hint, whats this industry missing to get the next generation of riders interested in sledding. Affordable entry level sled. I don’t consider a neo an entry level sled, IMO a fan cooled sled with a 340 to 500 fan IMO is whats missing. I had no interest in getting a 600 liquid cooled sled for over 13k Canadian.
Game changers.Now think back.
