Crickets 2026 Skidoo Release

I'm the same, been riding bikes for 45 years, I break in my 2 strokes a few heat cycles and run them easy for the first 2 hrs. I look over everything after each ride, do all the maintenance. I watch this vids of people buy these machines new and just holding them wide fuc..ng open all day!! And they wonder why they break! Even on a good running broke in machine I would never hold it open full throttle more than 15 seconds at a time unless I was climbing a chute and had.no choice but just holding them down all day you are just going to kill stuff. Many people who buy these sleds have zero mechanical knowledge and what is going on when you do that. I'd bet 90% of all the failures are from abuse. It's no different than towing a trailer up a pass, if you hold her down to the floor for miles you are going to hurt stuff eventually.
I guess what do I expect he’s a realtor pushing pens and paper for a living and goes by the saying it’s always a good time to buy and sell 😂

There's the announcement. Same date as the last few years - Looks to be the same body work in the teaser. I would guess the 850 gets replaced

Turbo R has only been out 3 years.

Skidoo tends to run motors for a long while.
Maybe a new N/A motor to compete with 9r and 858 sales. Then turbo that one in the next year or two. 850 N/A is the longest running engine they've had in the last 20 years.

800 H.O - 4 years
800r - 4 years
800 etec - 6 years
850 turbo (1st gen) - 2.5 years
850 N/A - in year 9
850 Turbo R - in year 3

How does the doo 850 do against 9r. Never see a 850 na anymore. Everyone around here goes for the turbo. The snowest boys said 858 won out against poo and doo 850s. Theirs was obviously tuned better than what i got out of the box. With clutching I could probably believe it but not before I changed the clutching. Not a 9r killer but in the mix.

Turbo R has been around for 5 1/2 years. (2020.5 Release 21 165hp), 22 Gen 4, 23, 24, 25 gen5 180hp which was more of a cosmetic upgrade

I agree I don't think the mapping is the same as what the Snowest boys got on their 2nd review last spring. Sled rips but it's not that much of a difference compared too there make and models. As far as the 850 Doo NA compared to the 9r or 858 I don't think it's that much of a difference in riders on that higher skill level. I had too ride my na Gen 5 for 2 weekends do to loosing reeds at 2k miles. What lines I couldn't make on it were very slim to none. Might have to add an extra switchback but nothing that makes me want to say this thing is a POS and gutless. Also enjoyed the NA weight for the 2 weekends.

Haven't ridden one in a few years. My wife's N/A Expert was a dog when it was new, but SHR clutching woke it up pretty well. From what I remember, I'd say the Doo was more "torquey" low to mid range, but doesn't rev nearly as fast as the 9r, and the 9r has longer legs.

Yeah same motor for the most part, but got the "R" designation and power bump in 2023. I just separated it since SMF had referred to it separately above.

Doo 850 is head to head very close to 9R in real life performance. 9R has bit more top end power. 858 is behind them both.
