cops vs sleds ;)

Hey Yall....
I just heard on the news thats they will be giving out $150+ tickets for people found riding on streets in the spokane area!!!! LAME!!!!!!! We just got record snow!!!
Man if my car is stuck and i live out in the country, and the only way out is my sled then so be it!!! WTF Idaho lets us ride sleds/atvs on the streets when there is snow so what make WA so anal? As for the whole ticket thing I' not going to stick around for that cop to issue me a citation:D:D:D:D
F*ck that!!
BRRRRRRAAAAAAPPPPPPPPP seeee ya!!!!

Typical! Of course, when they need you to get to someone because that someone is snowed in and having an emergency - you won't get a ticket then.

I think they should ticket if you are not in compliance with the general rules of the road....driver's license, insurance, speeding, right-of-way, etc.

Anyone wonder why people dislike snowmobilers? One dude tearing down the street illegally, the other riding on the up the golf course illegally.
Nice work boys- way to further the sport.

When we get dumped on our club works with emergency management and gives rides to cops, firefighters, pharamacists, city officials, etc., they appreciate us!!!

Cops are usually cool with it if you ride on the streets when they are packed full of snow, usually wave, or if anything stop you and just make sure you know fastest way out of town.

$150 is nothing. Word is going around here that the cops had a meeting of sorts, and anyone caught within town limits, with out insurance, or registration, gets slammed with a $2500 fine on the spot. Used to be a warning, then maybe $150-$200. Not good, as a LOT of guys around here don't have insurance or registration.

They better pack a credit card machine in their holster

Yeah, it's like a normal ticket still, you pay the next day or when ever it's due.. But yeah most of the guys don't have it simply because they want to save the $50.00. Don't see the point I guess. Now I think they will, ;) for $2500 I most guys should be willing to spend the $50.00

I'm guessing that its not "the cops" who have decided to crack down on snowmobile riding in town. More than likely the patrol officers started to get pressure from their administration who in turn was probably getting pressure from the city council and or the public.

I think its probably because someone/s ripped thru the wrong neighborhood....a neighborhood full of city council members and perhaps even an mayor?
exacltly!!

All it takes is one person who jumps a drift in front of the wrong house. I know its fun to ditchbang or ride on the road, but wer werent tought the rules of the road on our sleds, i know, I do it to, i go from riding along nice to blasting off a bank on the edge just like I do on the trail. OH well, keep riding, be smart, be safe.
