Its funny that you make statments about Joseph Smith having a great "Imagination" to come up with things. The question I have for you is as a lutheran, do you believe in or use any part of the bible?
Reason I ask, if you do why is it so hard to believe and use a book in your teaching that is full of writings of prophets being visited by angels and doing magnificent things in the name of God, yet for it to happen in present times it seems so far and outlandish to you?

Out of your own mouth,\/\/\/\/\/\/ Do you use the bible? and if so do you have the same document proof as you are requiring in order for you to believe that the bible is true?
Just as I would like to see documented proof that the Book of Mormon isn't a fictitious document written by a man no different than the likes of Jim Jones or David Koresh. Why is it when the Book of Mormon is questioned, legitimate questions cannot be answered?

And lastly have you ever read it? If not you really have no first hand knowledge to speak on the subject your merrly forming your opionions from what you have heard and read. Similiar to me saying that Hamlet by shakespear is the biggest boringest wast of parchment ever written. I have never read it so I really have no basis for my statement other than I heard some dude down on 12th street the other night say it sucked so Im going to go off what he said instead of finding out for myself.

Thanks for the questions. LDS members refer to these underwear as garments. You can buy garments that are long sleeved and long legged for the cold if you would like but the typical garment worn is a boxer that extends to the knee and the top is basically the size of like a Hanes white tshirt.. The womens top has shorter sleeves than the mens.

The garment is considered sacred and worn by those who have entered the temple. Because of the sacredness we arent allowed to go into detail of the promises we made. But we make covenents with God in the temple and promise to wear the garments always as a symbol to those covenants.

Where have I ever said that I have not read ther Book of Mormon? It is readily available, at the library, down at Hastings, Barnes and Noble even sales it. What I find interesting is when someone makes valid points concerning the Mormon religion, its members can only try to attack. Hugh Nibley has not made any documented facts, they are only theories. I am not trying to attack you, I am however questioning the validity of the LDS church and its history. You can believe whatever you want to believe, I don't care if you want to believe that cows jump over the moon. That is your choice as a citizen in this great country. There are sources upon sources of what I have been stating with my posts that support my point of view. Some of these sources were LDS members. Though if any LDS member speaks out about the church, you got it, they will be excommunicated from the church. That seem rather paranoid, don't you think? What do you have, a few LDS members that have authored their point of view from their one sided imagination.

When I began to read and study about the LDS church, you must know I did it with an open mind. My biggest question is why does the LDS church say one thing, then do the other. For years the church was prejudicial towards minorites. When the government pressured the church, the church of course changed. Seems that is the course of history of the organization, that and taking pride in dishonesty (example: Mountain Meadows Massacre). At least the Fundamentalist LDS church keeps the original beliefs in tact (though I do question the morality) unlike the "modern" church.

My conclusion: It is no more than a CULT that manipulates and controls its members. An organization that will not stand by its beliefs, but will change them to save face and for its own monetary gain.

I've been goin got church since I was a runt kid, and I can't recall one minister standing in front and telling me what I must do or what I can not do. Maybe I've had really good luck in finding preachers who will offer guidance or who will help you understand what the Bible is saying, but I've never been to a "church"(really the body of worship, not a building or organization) that forced certain things on me. Heck I go to a church filled with dirty hippes, backwards rednecks, ex outlaw bikers, drunks, etc. Point is all of us are excepted and welcome to worship God and learn from each other.....
