In my mind protecting the polygamists is no different than the average middle-easterner defending radical Islam before 9-11.

And duffman goes right past over the top into whatever land....

Oh yah!

and Holy Frick you mormans like to argue about your religion....

I can't figure out why so many people are siding with the polygamists. Polygamy has been disavowed by society in general, and the mormon church. Like it or not, there are negative social consequences for practicing behavior that is outside the mores of society. We have deemed polygamy to be wrong, yet the majority of people here, and the cops, are protecting the actual offenders.

i don't think people are defending polygamy as much as they are saying that this kid is a knuckle head for honking a horn at 11 pm, and then boo whooing about being harassed by the cops!!!!!!!

Do you believe everything you are told.......?? I don't know, is there a secret movement inside the LDS church? That is not a question that should be directed at me, but should be directed at the leaders of the LDS church. My question is, Why do the leaders of the church keep important aspects of the churches history locked away for no one to see?

Not everything in life is a conspiracy. and for me to argue with you about what you choose to believe is pointless.... You'll still believe what your going to believe.....i would only ask that when posting, try not to inject your own obvious bias when claiming to state fact.....:)

As in your post above, It's fine until the last sentance when again, you have to make a statement that at first glance, someone may not give it a second thought. Some will see it and because you typed it will believe it....It doesn't make it right, and is certainly not accurate. After 40 years, I have yet to have knowledge of or know anyone that has knowledge of this locked away history that you seem to be privy to...

It is alluded to in Under the Banner of Heaven.

never heard of it but just a short search I found all I need to know on wikipedia

"It is important to note, however, that apostate Mormon groups have no affiliation with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This book, therefore, is reflective of actions and ideals of such splinter groups, namely the Laffertys and fundamentalist Mormons, and does not accurately portray The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints."

No its not that we like to argue..

I would think you would understand this better than most, its like in the political threads when people post emails and such about obama.. You are always the first to pipe up and explain that its just garbage they are spewing and get annoyed that people post whatever they heard and want to believe about them whether its true or not..

Its the same thing here, something that was said, that wasnt true, that others may believe just cause they read it on a forum.. All anyone is trying to do correct any misleading or incorrect statements about the issue.

That's what makes this country so great, our freedom of speech and our right to choose what religion or idealogies that we want for ourselves. What you personally feel is biased, I personally do not. What you may think is not right, I personally feel that it is right. What you may think is a conspiracy, I think is a lie. As far as me being inaccurate, I beg to differ. The history I am alluding to is the history of the mormon church. Please shed some light on any archeological evidence that supports the Book of Mormon. I am very curious to see proof that Native Americans are the long lost children of Isreal. I would also like to see evidence that Jesus Christ visited America. Where did the golden tablets go, did the Angel Moroni really take them? If everything is true as to what the LDS church proclaims, then why are the archives of the LDS church not opened for everyone to see. Imagine how the church would look in the eyes of America. Everyone would want to be a member.

I personally have views that differs from what an LDS member believes. By stating my point of view, I am in no way putting that particular religion down. I personally do not believe in it, and that is my freedom of choice. Whether someone else wants to believe what I am writing is their choice, why be so self conscious and defensive about it?

After all isn't that how the Mormon religion started.......by people believing the writings of Joseph Smith.

Hmmm, it looks like I killed this thread.....then end of time apparently wasn't very long when it comes to this topic.

Anyone? Anyone?

Whats the point of discussing something with some one that obviously has their opinion set in stone irregardless of wether or not its correct? There is none. You can produce truth, reason with them but at the end of the day it won't do anything what so ever so why bother?
Thats the reason no one wants to discuss this further.

Matthew 7:6

Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

With all the criticism people make of these things you honestly think It would make everyone want to join the morman church if church archives were shown to public view? Church archives are kept the way they are for the very purpose stated in the scripture above..

No one has produced truth or reasoned with me. I am only asking for proof that supports the history of the LDS church. Of current there is no historical or archaelogical proof that supports the Book of Mormon, the evidence only discounts it. One example, DNA evidence shows that Native Americans originated from Asia not Israel as the Book of Mormon states. So do I think that the Book of Mormon is a fictiticious document? Until I am shown proof that supports the document, Yes, I do think that the religion is a complete lie from how it was founded. That's why I state that the LDS church needs to release it historical facts in regards to the religion (if they even have any that shows proof that the Book of Mormon isn't complete fiction). Otherwise, the LDS leaders are only being dishonest to its members.

One religion cannot be discredited without discrediting them all.... They all come from the same place. The only difference is perception. Difference in opinion of perception created different religions.

Gonna have to disagree with you on this one.
