Cooke City Whittle Sled Report

Great Snow Conditions Continued....

We last rode on Sunday the 20th and the conditions were absolutely great. We rode in snow that varied from knee to almost waist deep and it was light and fluffy. As the day wore on, the clouds parted some and it became extremely cold (in the single digits, with wind chill, way below zero). We took a couple of days off (wanted to let this cold air get out!!) and expect to go out tomorrow and check things out. We have had no new snow since the weekend, but the temps have stayed low, so hopefully that has preserved some of the fluff. As far as riders, it has not been that busy in town, so untracked snow (as long as you get out of the main steam of things) should not be that difficult to find. We will check it out and post a report and pictures on our website at www.cookecityantlerslodge.com. CHECK IT OUT!! Take care and ride safe!! Bill & Kay:):beer;

You are very welcome, glad I could help. Glad to hear that it is doing better and hope it heals up very quickly. I am not that surprised that it took 20 stitches, but was somewhat surprised to hear that you had to be put under to to do it. Infection is a real possibility though, so being able to clean it well was very important, and probably had alot to do with it.

Take care and we hope to see you sometime in the future.

Kay:)

I hope to return in early March and Ill make sure to stop by and say hi....Thanks again

Riding Report 1/24/08

We rode yesterday under clear skies and it was warm!! We found untracked snow in the trees in a few different places. The snow was still pretty soft in the thicker trees, and where the sun and wind can get to it, it is slightly harder and sometimes a crust on top. One may think that after being so spoiled with powder every time we go out this year, that yesterday would be a disappointment, but it wasn't. It was a great day. We do have some snow in the forecast over the next few days and we will be out in it!! For a hands on snow conditions / riding report, with pics, check out our website at www.cookecityantlerslodge.com.

and...come in and check out the Antlers Lodge for our great full menu breakfast starting at 7 AM until 10 AM. Also for great food and atmosphere at dinner time in our bar and restaurant, we open at 4 PM and close at 10 PM, enjoy great pizza, hamburgers, other grilled specialities and our specials on Friday and Saturday night.

Take care and ride safe.

Another GREAT ride

We went out today from about 11:30 to 3:00 and found some great new snow. Generally we found knee deep snow and if you got into a place where the wind had blown it in, you could find it waist deep. The snow was a little heavier than it has been, but still great. We took some pics for you to check out on the Antlers Lodge website at www.cookecityantlerslodge.com.

There is snow in the forecast for the next few days, and we will be out in it, so if you want an accurate, hands on riding report and pics, check us out!!:)

Thanks!!

Kay:beer;:):beer;(just for you lester:))

Hi Kay!!!!

How's life in Cooke?

We haven't made it back for a couple years since we say you back in late Dec 05 (New Years 06).

I really want to get back over there and see some more of that country. It is a BEAUTIFUL place to be.

And say Hi to Bill.

Hey Scott,

Good to hear from you and we would love to have you back. We have made a bunch of changes here since you last visited, we have remodeled a few cabins and put gas fireplaces in them and they turned out great. We also have made many changes in the lodge and have the restaurant open and are serving breakfast and dinner, and it is going great. We hope to get back up into your neck of the woods again to ride, but obviously only be when we close here in April. I miss riding in Elk Meadows and up through the lakes...we will make it back up there sometime. How is the snow up there this winter? From what I hear it can't be bad...and if you check out Bill's snow report on our website, you can easily see that we have been severly spoiled by Mother Nature this year.

Bill says hi...take care and ride safe.

Kay:)

Another Great Storm Through Cooke!!

Well...Mother Nature just keeps on spoiling us!! Over the last couple of days, we have had another great storm move through here. It is still snowing lightly in town this morning, but who knows about up high!

Bill and I went out for a few hours yesterday and it was great! It was snowing hard, so depending upon where you were, visibililty was an issue. It snowed the entire time we rode and was windy, so the snow varied in depth from knee to waist deep. This winter we have had alot of champagne powder days, but this snow is a little heavier. All in all, we had a great day and Bill only had to help me dig out 3 times!! We took some pics for you to view, so check them out at www.cookecityantlerslodge.com.

With all this new (heavier) snow, the avalanche danger is high, so play, but be careful!!

Hope to see you out there.

Snow up Lolo has been great. Haven't been to the meadows yet this year, but the Granite side was EPIC deep over New Years.

We are getting amazing snow this year and have been so spoiled with great snow every time we go out (and that has been 4 or 5 days a week). The snow in March can be great and you can still have some good powder, the difference is that it is warmer and sunnier then. It is slower in the latter part of March, so you do not have to have reservations way out in advance, so you can check conditions and make a decision closer to the date. And...about where to stay, stay with us here at the Antlers Lodge. Depending upon how many beds (do you want to double up or sleep alone), we have a couple of cabins that will sleep 6 people, with kitchens, satellite tv, etc. for $125 per night (ends up being around $20 per guy, per night). We also have a restaurant and bar and serve breakfast and dinner.

Keep an eye on our website at www.cookecityantlerslodge.com and click on our sled report. We ride all the time and take pics for you to check out yourself...we won't steer you wrong!!

Hey Kay

is 3 ft of powder better than the title bussiness??

Heard you and Bill were on an extended vacation in Cooke city. Kudos. Good spot to wear out the iron rather than hauling it on a trailer.

3 ft of powder is ALOT better than the title business and yes, we really like it here. We have been working really hard here to make improvements, and are having a great time riding. We really love Cooke City, and it is great being able to jumping on the sled and be in the riding in about 2 to 3 minutes. Oh yeah, also we love the XP's!!

Come and see us sometime!!

More Amazin Snow!!

We rode again today and went into the same area we rode in the day before yesterday and there was not a hint of our tracks anywhere!! It snowed in town, but certainly not nearly as much as up top. The depth varies from place to place, and again, we were in knee deep to waist deep snow all day. The snow is pretty soft, especially in the trees (which is where we spend alot of time). We rode all afternoon and never even went on the other side of Daisy, didn't need to. There is more snow in the forecast, yeah! Check out our pics on the Antlers Lodge website at www.cookecityantlerslodge.com, and click on the Whittle Sled Report!!

Take care and ride safe.
