Cooke City Whittle Sled Report

RIDING REPORT POSTED 12/19/07: WOW!!! Well, I'm not a man of many words, but I will try to explain today. We were in THREE feet of powder ALL DAY, and more in some places, AND it's the real fluffy kind, the kind where you can's stand up tall enough, the kind where you can't see, the kind where you can't breathe, OH! and the only way you can get around is WIDE OPEN!! Let's just say today's ride was better than sex!! You ever heard of better than sex cake? Well we have better than sex snow!! HOO RAH!! OH! AND...IT'S STILL SNOWING!! God I love Cooke City!!

If you would have judged the conditions from town yesterday, who would have known!!! Thats why we go out nearly every day (someone has to do it haha) and update the report, WITH PICS, regardless of what the conditions are, so YOU can decide.

There is proof if you want it...check out the pics on the Whittle Sled Report at www.cookecityantlerslodge.com. I'll also post the sled report on this thread from now on and remember...IT'S ABOUT THE ADVENTURE!!!:face-icon-small-hap

man this sucks... my sled is down and the snow is getting deep and fresh. on top of that all this time off(christmas) and all i get to do is look at pics. i am spiraling into a deep depression.;) i need a sled... i may have to rent!!!!! oh yeah good report whittle's!!!

:( Hey, I feel some of your pain, it has been snowing like crazy since yesterday (especially up top) and I have to go to Bozeman today to get supplies. We are going to start serving breakfast and dinner (we did just dinner last year) on 12/26 and need supplies. We were supposed to go yesterday, but put it off because of the snow...and cannot put it off anymore. I tried to talk Kay into going alone...but she wouldn't go for it. No worries though, we will update the riding report tonight...Mark (the cook) is going out today and will have a report, with pics. With regard to your needing a sled, we have one for sale (top of the snow report our website)...but I have a feeling it is not your brand. Hang in there...and I would consider renting.

Looking forward to your visit...snow is awesome, there was already a ton up there and it has been dumping all day. Appreciate your checking our breakfast out...we'll offer a FULL hearty breakfast at a fair price...want to keep you going all day.

Hey Scott,

Things are going great here, snow is unbelievable and has been all month. It was a little deceiving if you were judging from town, we would get a couple of inches in town (or nothing) and would have new snow up there nearly every time we went. Looking forward to your visit and the bar and restaurant are going great. We are opening for breakfast this year also (full menu), come check it out!! AND...as you know, riding is the reason we live here, so if you are wondering about conditions on the mountain, check out my snow report and pics.

Merry Christmas / Riding Report 12/25

Check out pics on our website www.cookecityantlerslodge.com.

We were out from about 10 to 3 today and Santa brought us the best gift!!! The amount of snow varied a little, depending upon where you were, (those of you who know Bill and how he rides, know some of the holes he can find...great fun!!), but we found anywhere from knee to waist deep NEW snow. The great thing is, it really does not matter where you ride, the snow was amazing!! All of you that are coming for New Years have a great treat in store...the snow is great now and there is snow in the forecast every day up to the weekend.

We are really looking forward to seeing all of our friends very soon...travel safe and we will see you soon.

We added breakfast this winter and the kickoff went great, and we look forward to your stay!! It was sunny today for the first time in a while and we rode for a while and were amazed at how much barely tracked or totally untracked snow we found, and it wasn't really that far out of the way!! Have a safe trip out!!

Bill & Kay

Are you guys filled up for the season yet. Maybe Bill has a spot on the garage floor I could use??

More snow...

Well, more great snow coming our way!! It has been snowing since late last evening and is still snowing now. We didn't get a bunch in town, but you never know about up high. Bill is out now and will check it out and post some pics for you, so you can see for yourself. I will post the report and pics later this afternoon.

Check us out!! We have newly remodeled cabins with cozy gas fireplaces in them!! We added breakfast this year in our restaurant and it is going great! We offer a full menu hot breakfast from 7 AM to 10 AM every day, and promise to fill you up at a fair price. Dinner in our restaurant and bar begins at 4 in the afternoon and we offer daily, our great pizza, grilled burgers, sandwiches, etc., PLUS weekend specials...chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes & gravy, homemade spaghetti with garlilc bread, slow cooked country style barbecued ribs AND THE LIST GOES ON!! Come relax in our lodge, kick back in the relciner or in front of the fireplace. Where else can you eat your meal at the cofee table, in front of the big screen tv?? We want our home to be your home away from home!!

We would serve lunch, but we have to have some time to ride!! After all, that is why we live here. Check out our great sled report WITH PICTURES on our website at www.cookecityantlerslodge.com. AND, I will post the report here also.:beer;:)

Cooke City riding is amazing

Well, the snow has just kept on coming and we just can't get enough!! Check out the pics on our website www.cookecityantlerslodge.com (click on the Whittle Sled Report at the bottom of any page), cause we are out playing in it every possible chance we get.

The skies have been mostly clear today (a rare thing so far this winter), and there is snow in the forecast every day beginning late tomorrow.

NOT ALOT OF PEOPLE HERE AND TONS OF SNOW, so we hope you can make it to Cooke soon!!

Kay...I would like to thank you for helping me with my knee last week and helping me wrap it up and for calling the mammoth clinic for me, I really appreciate it

P.S. the knee is feeling pretty good, It took 20 stitches to close it up

You are very welcome, glad I could help. Glad to hear that it is doing better and hope it heals up very quickly. I am not that surprised that it took 20 stitches, but was somewhat surprised to hear that you had to be put under to to do it. Infection is a real possibility though, so being able to clean it well was very important, and probably had alot to do with it.

Take care and we hope to see you sometime in the future.

Kay:)
