Co riders paying way to much for a pro!!

Me and my buddies are from wisconsin and Michigan(up) We just spent a week in colarado snowmobiling, by Grand Lake. This was my third time there. The new guy this year decided he didn't like his sled. We went to spirit lake polaris dealership, to buy one. He had a 12 pro 163 DEMO sled, with just under 200 miles and a big rip in the seat. He still wanted 10,800 plus tax!!! He said everybody pays full retail out there??? Are you kidden me? I informed him that we bought two new pro's this year in Wisconsin for 10,600 out the door. Including tax and a four year warrenty. One is the orange one and the other is the retro. Tell me this guy was just trying to screw us, and nobody actually pays full retail out there.

10800 for the sled with 200 miles doesn't sound bad to me. You can't fault the dealer for charging you tax......

I live in Colorado. I buy my sleds from Oregon and have them shipped here. Sometimes there are good deals here in Colorado, but most of the time there are better deals out of state. Look for states with no sales tax. Helps a bunch. I only pay ~$250 for shipping.

I don't want to be Mr. Obvious here but if the dealership is selling close to retail and doesn't have a bunch of old inventory then he is selling for what the LOCAL market will bear. So break open that wallet and help the Colorado economy!

Spirit Lake sells all of their Pro's for full price and never have any left over, and mostly to repeat customers so they must be doing something right. Your dealer is giving his sleds away at cost (or lower).

Rent and buy new back home. Theyll sell at msrp all day long to guys on a trip needing a sled!

Wow, I guess if you like to pay alot more than everybody else. And for a worse machine. That's your problem. I just won't pay whatever they decide to ask.

everybody else, were you live, not in Colorado, our dealers don't sell a ton of flatlander sleds to make up for it. I guess I don't consider that a problem, Not living in Colorado would be the problem.

So what 2012 Pro sled did he buy and how much did he pay?

I will just say, if any of you don't want to keep paying full retail. Let me know and I will send you the dealer ship name's. Yes I said name's. The two 2012 pro's came from different dealer ships. Same price!! My 2009 assault different dealer also, 10,600 out the door (including tax) from a Michigan dealer. My buddies 2011 rmk 800 bought new last year, different dealer yet. 10,400 out the door (including tax) just trying to help everybody that loves to ride, not get screwed. It would be alot cheaper to buy them from by us and ship them.

Are we talking 2009 and 2011 prices here, or are we talking 2012 prices?

My buddy bought a new cat in 2009 and paid $8,000 otd.

Would not be worth the savings when you add $600 shipping, high altitude kit and no dealer support.

Grand Lake taxes are lower also.

And my buddy bought an '09 assault from SL in '09 for 9,500 out the door (set up for 9k +), so you prices seem goofy.

I bought the orange 800 pro for 10,600 out the door. Tax included and a four year warranty. My buddy got the same exact deal from a different dealer. He got the retro one.

I had extras on my assault. When I snow check my 13 pro I will post a pic of the sale price. If you want a pic of the dealer sheet on the 12, I will be more than happy. Send me your email. Also i don't need dealer support to change some weights, spring, and a fuel map if needed. If you do that's ok. I again was just trying to help people out that just love to ride.

No but those parts aren't free.

And how about when you motor goes down? Woody will give you his personal sled to ride, that's the dealer support I am talking about.

Not trying to say more $$ is better, but the cheapest price over 1,000 miles away isn't that great either.

If I can, I will support a local business.

I'm glad that I bought my Pro locally. This week, the oil line fitting going into the oil pump fell out and ran the motor w/o any oil and locked it up. Try getting preferential service when you bought it somewhere else.

you bought those these week for those prices?

What sled did your other guy (who originally was looking) get...and how much did he pay?

Price

bmin pm me if you could those dealers names,it always surprises me that dealers say they make no money on sleds and they sell them at cost, but another dealer is selling them for maybe $500 less than cost?
