Clutch broke in half, pic attached.

This is a machining tolerance issue. Then take the 32mm crank dimension change from 27mm that started around 07-08.

As for the problem, we started seeing it around 08 and by '10 it was pretty common. But it does seem to be even more common on the Pro's. But that could be due to more units sold overall.

I keep 2 P-85's on the shelf.

So dealer just calls me, replaced crank and new clutch. He was checking pistons and decided to replace, then discovers the bottom of 1 cylinder skirt is cracked and would have broke off and went through motor...little over 500 miles on sled. Glad they caught it but still disappointed that these motors don't last any longer than this.

Any insights into oiler status, pre-mix any oil, type of fuel used, water temps you've seen, too? Thanks for sharing...

Sled is bone stock, I read the posts about turning up the oil pump, don't pre-mix and I run 91 octane good gas. Sled is a standard RMK with front cooler, (it's one of the main reasons I got the standard) have never seen it get above 129 degrees.

My buddys 12 SBA had clutch shear in middle last season at 1000 miles. All covered under warranty, new shortblock and clutches.

My 12 SBA that I sold to a buddy had crank shear behind clutch (whole primary fell off). Was around 5000 miles when it happened. Was only going 30 mph when it happened.

Sled was off warranty but polaris supplied new crank and clutch, buddy had to pay labour.

Clearly a defect should be 100% covered but at least they helped.
