Our electricity providers strive to provide us with power that is....
Safe
Reliable
Affordable

Hydro and natural gas fit these criteria well.
Coal fits these criteria extremely well.
Wind and solar...not so much.
The best thing we can do is elect officials that promise to abandon those pipe dreams.

It's almost like watching the average IQ drop with every news cast. Americas power grid isn't dependable, so lets depend on variable output energy and shut down on demand dependable sources. Oh and wait, lets be pissed and surprised that our water freezes when we don't insulate or winterize properly. News flash-It has froze in Texas before and it will again. I understand we do things a little different up here but we learn from the past and improve were we can.

The above article is a bitter pill of reality that the resident lemmings here will refuse to swallow.
Wow mafesto, almost sounds like you are advocating the government stepping in and killing jobs... the wind industry employs something like 114,000 people in the US and is one of the fastest growing employment sectors . Just because the oil and coal industries are publishing bullshit articles like that one and Donny tells you they cause cancer doesn’t mean they don’t work.

Let me repeat, just for you. And just for you I will type slowly.

Yeah, facts sure are inconvenient... what type of power generation failed in Texas again? Oh yeah, gas... thought that was safe, reliable and consistent??

No one is claiming that wind power is the magic bullet but it is effective, that’s undeniable unless you believe an orange guy who says it causes cancer.

The buggy is getting in front of the horse again , You are completely leaving a void in the transition . from a broken down grid to a disposable green deal .

Why do you insist that we are so against this anyway ????????????????????

Then sprinkle in some crippling Emergency Orders from inept and corrupt Bureaucrats in DC to make sure the suffering is widespread:

Real simple question , when does it become unstable tying in wind or solar into an existing grid ? Think about it , there is a point when it becomes unstable and there is no fall back plan and the existing grid that could be activated to handle the demand even though old can no longer be activated because it has been severed .

THERE IS NO BACK UP PLAN

This explains it in another not so direct way , we have paid dearly for one that if it wasn't for the local power company doing thier home work we probably would of had a collapse in our system shortly after the install because of the colder weather we have .
Of course we want the technology , but at what price .

Those wind turbines on that island took a 3 million dollar loss last year in maintenanceAlaska-wind-energy.jpeg

Yeah construction/startup non sustainable jobs that dont last. Heavily subsidized.
Coal/gas/nuclear sustainable jobs that supply reliable power at a constant rate to meet demand.
Ask Texas about reliable power on demand.
