I think it is funny that the UN demanded a cease fire and this time it was both sides that said bite me. Usually it is just Isreal that complies. I think the whole thing is scaring the middle east. That is why a lot of the middle east countries are actually sitting down with the UN, US and Isreal to see what it would take to put a cease fire.
The middle east (including hamas) has realized they may have pushed too far this time.

I actually live with two arabs believe it or not ...
The "devout" one is actually a hell of a lot more conservative an open minded than the one who I'm probably more conservative than, but...
One of them is from Libya, the other is from Lebanon ... I guess the guy from Lebanon actually had the IDF kick him and his family out of their house when he was a little kid or something, so he hates israel I guess ...
I haven't really asked him what he thought about hamas and all that ****, I'll have to see what he says.... the "devout" one had stated at least 100 times that he hates al queda and their ilk, and to him it's really upsetting because he hates being viewed as "like them" ...
I dunno, it's interesting hearing what those guys have to say, but at the same time I'm not very sympathetic ...
My attitude towards them is "well, ok, so it's your 'homeland', but your homeland is ****ed up, that's why you came here, so stop thinking we need to change MY homeland which ISNT completley ****ed up back to what you just left" .... heh

all the liberals and pacifists of the world need to spend a week in Sderot, a town in Israel were rockets fall every night. almost every day someone dies. for 8 years the people of Sderot begged their government to protect them. and for 8 years the government tried diplomacy with terrorists.
the only answer is to topple Hamas and save the Palestinians. only problem is they don't want to be saved. they don't want to live beside Jews and they're willing to die for it. that's why they voted for Hamas.
these people have no value for human life, that's probably why they are the only people in the world that send their children to blow themselves up. once the child blew up they have a party at the house. these "respect" parties can see up to 50,000 guests.
