Central Alberta Rip Off Artists

Here is a warning to all sledders in Central Alberta and elsewhere. I just recently purchased a 09 Sno Pro with a damaged hood. I was going to invest in a new hood, but they were pretty pricey, so I checked into getting it repaired. Just so happened that I found a place on Kijiji that fit that particular application. I talked to the guy about it and he was quite adamant that he could fix it better than new and as well, could wrap it in a cool wrap to hide any possible blemishes. Quoted me a price of 550, which included wrapping my helmet to match. I did the math and the price was right compared to a new hood, so I went for it.
Took awhile but I got the hood back. I had to pay him the money to get the hood back, as he had to pay the wrap guy. I did, like an idiot, thinking it would be all good. Took the hood home and put it on. The wrap was not at all what I had ordered, and to make matters worse, he had "modified" the hood to make it "cooler". The modification left huge gaps on either side of the hood that allowed way to much snow in. I took pics to prove it. I contacted him and he apologized up and down and had a million excuses. Said he would redo the repair and the wrap to my satisfaction. He picked it up on a Sunday. I told him I needed it by Thursday as we were going to Valemont. No problem he said. To make a long story short, got a phone call from the wrap guy on Thursday nite at 8 pm. He wanted 450 dollars for his work or else no hood back. Had no other choice but to pay the ransome as we were leaving at 530 am. Had to drive to Ponoka to get it, then spent 3 hours, fixing his crappy work to get the hood to fit. Needless to say, I am PO fd. The rip off artist said I was not getting any money back, as he had to redo work and he felt he undercharged me. So am now have a used repaired hood with a ****ty wrap on it for 1100 dollars. I figure I ain't going to get my money back, so I am putting the word out there. If anyone wants the guys name, the company name and the wrap company name to avoid them, pm me and I will tell you whatever you need to know. Don't want to say here, don't need any slander suits or stuff like that. But I will say, stay away from Gull Lake.
Thanks for letting me vent.

So, you dropped nearly 900 clams on this cheeze? I would have kicked his...

I'm having some trouble trying to understand this now. This dude wants to warn people about being ripped off, but won't drop any names or post any pics?

Thread FAIL.

Okay, think I have it.
The first picture is the finished product which is not too bad. I don't think the colors match that well, but the issue was that I had to pay the guy before I could even get the hood back.
The second picture was the original wrap which was way too much red in the design and did not match at all. The other issues was patches on each side that were not even at all.
The third pic shows the one side and you can see that the patch does not line up with the flow of the main wrap. In the lower right, you can see the patch intersects the flame and he had cut the wrap in a way that you can see a black section cut in half. Sorry but the pic does not do it justice.
The 4 th pic shows the modification that was done and although he can't see the actual number, you can see it is a substantial gap, and it is on both sides.
Anyway, have a look and let me know. I still don't think the finished product is the right color. If someone wants to buy it, let me know

Not too make myself look more stupid, but I am actually 1100 bucks in. 550 for the guy in gull lake and 450 for the ransom from the actual sled wrap guy (who was not paid by the crook in gull lake) in Camrose. And before anyone says I should not have paid the second time, do the math. I am already in for 550, if I did not pay, the 450, I have no hood. A new hood would be 800 bucks with no decals, plus 400 to 500 for the headlights, i don't know what the gauges are worth, but i can guess not cheap, another canceled trip that I would still have to pay for the room as it was past the 24 hr thing to cancel. I was overa barrel anyway you slice it. And now I am going to remove the wrap cause it looks like ***t!

You got burned Bro! But you might as well leave the wrap on. It is likely that you are going to bang the sled up anyway.
Post the losers names and go enjoy your sled and move on to happier things!!
Just mY .02 .
