Carwin vs. Lesnar

Lesnar looks like alot more then a ticket seller to me. The world champion speaks for itself, great fight and props to brock for holding up to the hardest of carwins hits.

looks like a couple people had to eat crow on this one, as for Brocks chin i think it was tested pretty good last night pretty impressed to see him win by submission guess he is a little more than just a big ugly ticket seller. Should really silence all the critics!!!

Also...a lot of time has passed since Brock came into the MMA game...he's had a chance to get better and he definately has.

Me thinks this is a chance for Fedor to come into the picture. Who knows how that will happen, but I think if Brock's mouth works in tune with Dana's promotional mind...the chatter will start soon. He might have to fight Werdum first but I predict Brock will fight Fedor in the next two years.

Prolly not, but Shane beat him down again. As for stamina, don't forget that Shane trains at high altitude. Shane will STOMP Lesner into the mat. He's big, fast and has a punch that would knock you into the next century. Lesner cracks me up, I can't wait till Shane wipes that smug grin off his no-neck face.

You kinda missed a bit with your prediction.
You crack me up!

Won 10 Bucks!!! After that first round we all agreed that the fight would never make it 5 rounds but nobody I was with could have guessed a submission victory from Lesnar... and I was with 15 other guys who train Jiu Jitsu.

I'll come and eat a big slice of humble pie. I was one of the ones that thought Carwin would beat Lesnar. I still think he can, he just needs to refine his gameplan. He definately needs to work on his cardio, and he is horrible on the ground.

I'll say it, Lesnar's the man. And will continue to be for quite a while. I don't see Cain Velasquez giving him any problems. Junior Dos Santos could knock Lesnar out, but Brock will take him down long before he gets the chance. Roy Nelson could give him problems because he is a great grappler. I think that a long ways down the road, Todd Duffee could give him trouble.

Aside from Duffee none of these guys are even close to Lesnar, athletically.

is there anyplace i can find vid of the fight on the web? couldnt make it to watch the fight the other night and my bud didnt have dvr to record it

if carwin couldn't knock him out I doubt junior has much chance but who knows. Scarry thing about Brock is how much he improves every time out. In a rematch carwin I'm sure would be better but Brock would be also. as much as some people don't like him he is fun to watch and also seems to be getting control of his emotions. pretty sure Mir and the others must of went oh sh!t when he saw the beating Brock can take.

where oh where is pj?

So I was wrong. I'll eat my humble pie, as will Shane. But, I truly believe that the better FIGHTER lost. Shane pounded Lesnar and the tape will show that Lesnar was hurt and covering badly. Shane had him but then the bell rang and Carwin was in a new world, the second round.

It's my opinion that the roles would have been reversed had Shane gotten Lesnar in a choke hold. Anybody could see that when those two men bumped gloves at the beginning, they were so close in size, reach and weight that it could have been anybody's game. Both men have massive and strong arms and I can see why there was a tapout. Lesnar would have tapped if Shane had him in the choker.

I will say that the rematch will be better, but Shane HAS TO TRAIN for a solid 15 minute fight and he must work on his experience on the mat. Both are impressive athletes but I still hold to my belief that Carwin is better. I can't wait to see them fight again. It was not an easy win for Brock and he took a major beating to get it.

Just buggin. I honestly don't think Shane has a prayer against Brock in a rematch. Couldn't knock him out when he had the chance and Brock will much better in every fight going forward, barring illness again. I was more impressed by Brock coming back from a beat down than anything I have seen in his other fights. The best fighter did win.

It is too bad that being 2nd best counts for nothing.
Carwin is the toughest opponent Brock has met & anyone should have to go through him to get a shot at Brock.

Shane will probably never beat Brock, but he could go through all of the others like crap through a goose.

I do agree fully on the red comment. Nobody should get a title shot without fighting Carwin. That includes Mr. Cain.

Here is the flaw in my theory though......
If every fighter had to go through Carwin, Shane would beat them.
Then He gets a rematch with Lesnar. Lesnar beats him.
Repeat the above process.....over & over & over.

There is always somebody that is bigger and better. He's lost once, he will lose again. Patience. Carwin has the tools, he just has to change his gameplan.

I have to disagree, Brock can and will be beat and just about did, a different Ref may have called that fight as Brock was doing almost nothing but taking shots for about 15 seconds straight, the bottom line was that Carwin just flat gassed out. After the initial shots Brock took he backed off and ran and then got dropped, his eyes were a bit out of focus and he was not to far from being out. To his credit he was able to stick it out absorb the punishment and get back into the fight, had Carwin not run out of juice he would have put Brock out, but 3 minutes into the round Shane was out of gas.... The bottom line in MMA is that on any given night ANYONE can lose, all it takes is a mistake, a small mistake and you can get submitted or knocked out by someone not nearly as good as you. Brock showed he can take a punch and he showed some heart by staying in there under a lot of blows, but he also showed he can get hurt and flat does not like to be hit in the face by a guy with some serious power. Brock can and will lose again, the difference will be if he is able to become a more rounded and better fighter and come back and win again after every loss or every fight for that matter. He is showing signs of that every fight, but no fighter is so bad@$$ that he wins every fight every time particularly with the caliber of opponets that he will have to face.
