Carwin vs. Lesnar

Dana White should make bank on this fight.

Let's hear your predictions....

I'm taking Lesnar as I feel this will be a slugfest and I just don't see shane hanging with Brock for 5 rounds of trading blows.

I don't think Lesnar will want to stand and bang for 5 rounds either. Carwin has a ton more experience and is undefeated. Very heavy hands! 11 wins and an average fight lasting just over a minute is pretty impressive!
I still think Lesnar is a flash in the pan! Just a pawn to get buts in the seats! Title shot without earning it! Pretty sh%$#y in my book!
If he can get carwin down and lay on him like in his other fights he will probably win. 0 technique! He showed his true colors when he beat Mir! He should go back to the WWE where he can be a PRI-K and fit in!

That's just my opinion! I could be wrong.

Lesnar is the poster child for selling seats. Big ugly phu ck with lots of power. Carwin has some serious talent and is big. whatch either 1 of em when they fight. Lesnar is just performing and Carwin has fire in his eyes. It took Lesnar 2 rounds to take out a in shape Mir, It took Carwin a minute to demolish an even better bigger Mir. Just my.02 cents. Of course I may be wrong.

5 rounds!?? Shane won't need 5 rounds, he only needs a minute in the 1st round. Slediot is right, Carwin has the desire to win and succeed, Brock is just a ticket getter. Mir beat Lesner and Shane beat a bigger, badder and better Mir and made it look easy.

I'll take Carwin, if in fact Brock will ever fight again. He seems to be having a serious case of Pussitis.

If Brock wants to win, he better take this fight right to the ground. If he tries to stand and bang with Carwin, he's gonna get dropped, end of story.

It was said above that Brock didnt earn his title shot he had 2 wins just like Mir did before he got his shot so I guess Mir didnt desreve his shot the last two times either because thats all the wins he had before getting a shot at the interum title. Lets face it Brock is one big nasty dude he is not just a big flash in hte pan as mentioned above IMO. Dont forget he was a world class wrestler in college, so what if he was in hte WWE he needed to make money like the rest of us. I do agree carwin has more expreience but and is hungry but what makes people think that Lesnar isnt still just as hungry. I know one thing is for sure I will not miss that fight

Sorry guys but MMA Math doesn't work. Should be a good fight for sure though, If Carwin can keep it standing we may see Brock go to sleep, if not Brock could definitely smother him and wear him out in the championship rounds...

Which title shot? Mir lost his 3rd UFC fight in 2002.

did u ever think that the reason that Carwin put Mir out so easy is because Lesnar scrambled his brain so bad that he is really not the fighter he ounce was ( not trying to take anything away from Carwin) but anybody that gets beat down like Mir did by Lesnar would not IMO be the same again

Prolly not, but Shane beat him down again. As for stamina, don't forget that Shane trains at high altitude. Shane will STOMP Lesner into the mat. He's big, fast and has a punch that would knock you into the next century. Lesner cracks me up, I can't wait till Shane wipes that smug grin off his no-neck face.

I will say...Carwin put a BEAT DOWN on Mir...as did Lesnar.
And Mir looked like he was in the best shape I've ever seen him. Probably the best shape of his life. He looked REALLY jacked up.

That being said...that math doesn't mean anything. Match-up of styles is key to deciding who has the advantage.

Carwin can beat Mir in the first round.
Lesnar can beat Mir in the first round.
BUT NOTHING means that Lesnar and Carwin are evenly matched whatsoever.

Carwin is a two time D-II college wrestling champ...AND All-American East-West football selection too.

Lesnar is a Junior College champ (is that correct?) and D-I champ at Minnesota.

Honestly, there isn't a lot of diff between a D-II champ and a D-I champ.

I will go so far as to say that Carwin will have the wrestling advantage. Lesnar (6'3", 265lbs) does not have size advantage over Carwin (6'5", 265lbs). He won't be able to just lay on Carwin.

I know Lesnar is a beast and has the attitude to go with it.
I know that Carwin will be the crowd favorite.
I suspect that Carwin is hungry enough not to over-train and hungry enough to be very focused and get the right guys in his training room.
Did Lesnar take Carwin seriously before Carwin beat down Mir? I think Lesnar feels nobody can touch him. Will he take Carwin seriously?

When Lesnar told Carwin he wasn't holding the real belt...Carwin had the BEST response. LMFAO. And that shows a LOT about how he will prepare for this fight.
Lesnar already has the belt. Winning the championship is one thing...DEFENDING it is a whole other ball of wax.

I say Carwin wins beats Lesnar.

Ralphie, I think you're really going out on limb with predictions that bold.
This will be the highest grossing PPV yet, That's my prediction!

Anyone who saw Lesnar and Carwin stand together in the ring saturday knows Carwin isnt 6'5". Lesnar looked to be 6"s bigger then carwin in every direction.

Carwin looked like a beast against Mir. But looked like a average joe standing next to lesnar. Carwin is no Joke for sure, But Lesnar as much as peeps don't want to admit it, Is the REAL DEAL! He is a freak of nature and has sledge hammers for fists.

It will be a great fight. Both are explosive and violent.

Yeah, there's no chance that Carwin is 6'5". He's about 6'2" at best. I don't know about Carwin's wrestling which is supposed to be pretty good. I was talking with one of my co-workers who's the head wrestling coach for the local high school. Him and me agreed that Carwin's wrestling doesn't have to be better than Lesnar's, it just has to be good enough to not get overwhelmed.

Honestly, this could go either way. Lesnar is a physical specimen, and I would guess his wrestling his better than Carwin's, so he should be able to take him down. On the other hand, Carwin has EXPLOSIVE standup skills and hands of stone.

I'll take Carwin...I cannot wait for this fight.

Shane is taller than 6'2". I'm 6'2" and he is noticeably taller than I am. My brother is 6'3" and Shane is taller than him. I know this because we were at his brother's wedding reception. His size on TV doesn't do him justice, he is a very big man. When I shook his hand, mine disappeared. I am 6'2" and weigh in at 220 and when I look small next to another man, you know that he is big. Brock may have a little more mass, but I think it may be damaging in the long run, he is going against another fighter who trains for endurance, speed and agility.

I forget, how many rounds did it take Lesnar to beat a smaller and weaker Mir? We know it took Carwin just one round to beat a heavier, stronger and faster Mir.

im still a believer in brock i think he will win with the referee pulling him off shane in the second round. Lesner hasnt fought in a long time and all the people that say he isnt for real adds to his strength and he will put on a show and this will be maybe the best fight in ufc history.
