Carbed 2 stroke turbo guy's !!!

Thread Rating
5.00 star(s)
I didn't even think of the weight of the turbo xs valve. now that you mention it, yes it is heavy. Alot heavier then the tial.

Plate

The thickness of the plate is the same as the knife, I made the length the same as if you have the knife gate pulled fully open! I modeled the edges of my plugs the same as the knife gates so in theory these plugs will be the same as if the knifes in the open position!

Gus, what do you mean buy a boost emergency?

Also if the gates are fully open there is a few voids near the mounting flange, my plugs do not have these voids, Is this what you are worried about?

Hey there I have followed this thread and found some good info and some really bad info, just like all the threads on here. I only have a couple things to say.
I have been involved with turbo sleds for quite a while now and I am invloved with a shop that has an XP 800 running as good as I have seen. They are still running the RAVE valves and not running any power jets. The RAVE valves have been replumbed to work properly with boost and are adjustable as to when they open. the carbs are vented differently than any sugestions on here. The jetting has been tested from 3000 feet to 9000 feet with no problems. it ran flawless at 9000 feet( where it was final tuned) and on the way down it ran the same egt temps and air fuel numbers as it did up on the hill. I was asked not to tell too much about it, as they are working on getting a kit setup. I can say this much about the setup.

7lbs boost
390 mains
stock pilots with fuel screw richend up 1/4 turn
250-380 primary spring
2mm oversized rollers
18 grams pins
stock secondary spring
shockwave helix

said there is more to get out clutching, but it beat a turboed yamaha tripple at 15 lbs boost in climbing and dragracing.

if you want more info pm me please.

We run powerjets for more adjustability, not necessity. Its much more trouble to get the carbs off to rejet with the turbo so its much easier to do the jetting with the powerjets. Some guys I have seen jet up to where they can keep their powerjets closed except for those really cold or low elevation days.

Outlaw, this probably won't surprise you but my boost controller is homemade. Cost me less than $10 and a trip to home depot.

Not suprised at all.. you seem like a McGyver. Some things I like to do myself and some I like to buy the parts. I just prefered buying this.

The gest McGyver move I have seen yet was Twister building limiter straps out of like some back pack webbing one day. I actually got it on vid.. but I cant load vid from my cam on the puter.

Thanks for the info!!!!!

Its out of necessity for me. If I can't make it myself or do it real cheap I can't do it. Between having 3 kids and all my bikes, cars and sleds I am broke.

their turbo kit runs the same egts and a/f at 3,000' as it does at 9,000' so power jets are not required. Jetting never has to be changed. it is always perfect.

they always seem to be drawn to this thread eh ??

please, this is my thread started to to help those who follow the principals I and many more use successfully, please refrain from staining it with argument . My 22 years of 2 stroke turbocharging and records to prove it trumps your ramblings..

If you do not agree or would like to SELL your kit or parts to sell, please feel free to start your own thread ..

I do not go to others threads and disrespect their ways,, if you plan on selling these systems or advertising for your FREIND,,,you should learn this is no way to get people to trust you or your ramblings..

Sorry Devil, Tony, voodoo ,Pappa and any others ,, we can't lock the threads anymore so we can't keep the OT's out.

Hey Gus, do you do any asphalt racing or just ice?

Wondering how much HP an asphalt track can hook up. Thinking about building a turbo asphalt sled, that would be wicked fast.

well i have deleted my post as gus asked. i see that you are not open to new ideas especially if they may contradict your theorys.
I will share my info with those who ask.

Gus I never stated whos advise is bad. if you are getting so worked up, I am wondering if you trust your own advise. I have personally tried some of the ideas and advise given here and some of it is very bad. that being said, some of it is very good.

Aslo Gus I am not rambling. I am simply stating my personal experience and observations, such as you are.

My valves are so thick on my Cat, it looked funny to see yours so nice and thin. I would like to make a set like yours after I get done testing my pinned up ones and my "resistor" setup to fool the ECU. I'll let ya all know after this weekend.

Boost emergency...hmmmmmmmm would that be that time that ya gotta have a little more for the extra 50ft up through that chute?????LOL:D

gus
not to argue with you on the bov idea

but i recommend one with a automotive style turbo while riding in the mountains

I dont use a bov for the slides i use a bov for when your on and off the throttle to eliminate turbo surge. and allows the turbo to keep spooled up while riding in tight trees or playing around on the hills

just a matter of having the pressures in the float bowls proper. There are some of the four stroker carb kits that work awsome at different elevations and different boost level with no need in jetting changes. If you want more info please pm me. thanks.

I will not be replying to any questions in this thread, as the originator of the thread does not want me to. he has asked me to start my own thread. I will amswer any questions if you pm me.
Thanks

Gus... I know your the "moderator" of this thread, but I would like to hear the explanation of how they are doing it first off... and then you pick it apart or say yeah that might work.

Frankly... I am a newbie to the turbo world and what MM is saying doesnt sound possible to me.

*note.. I dont want to start a pizzin match though either.
