Car Dealers, Are They All Crooks!!??

  • Thread starter Thread starter Snow Fox

Don't expect Chrysler to do anything for you. The Big Three do not dictate day to day operations of any dealership. And if you think this doesn't happen at Toyota dealerships, you are wrong. Most of them are owned by the same crooks that give us all a bad name.

It went downhill from there in a big hurry and I made a very big scene in the dealership by telling the greaseball what I thought of their poor business practices. My wife had to pretty much drag me out, I don't remember being that mad in a long time. I wish I could remember everything I said to him, but I was so ticked off I can't remember it all. I am so upset with how my wife and I were treated, I plan to make their lives as miserable as I possibly can to try to get rid of the bad taste in my mouth.

umm aren't you a cop?

Even if I were a "cop" what does that have to do with anything? It was the sales manager that caused the commotion. I did nothing illegal and was only standing up for myself. Sorry I am only human for becoming upset for my wife and I being treated like sh!t.

With my background in law and state statutes I do know what fraud is. When I informed the greasy slimeball sales manager they are commiting advertising fraud is when it went downhill as he became very defensive. So what, in your world a person can't stand up to illegal, unethical business practices?

That's how they make their money, you will pay for the vehicle 3 times over in interest fees before you actually own it, that's how they make there money, and you cant finance and pay it off all at once because there is an additional fee if you pay all at once. Either way, buying from a dealership is a rip off, look for private deals or auctions, usually you get a repo for a decent price. The price of fuel I think I am going to buy some aftermarket shoe laces and start running to my destinations ;)

I learned that this morning. I filed a complaint with Chrysler and they could care less. They told me that the dealer is independently owned so they could do nothing. I informed her that I found that interesting since they sell their product and chrysler gives them a five star rating. She said that is true but blah, blah, blah.

I am sure that Toyota isn't much different, but as of right now their reputation seems to be a lot better than the others.

Crap, I deleted the wrong post... ***gin computers. Any who, it sounded like you blew your top, and having to have your wife pull you out.... da da da.... just kind of amazed me at the loss of control for somebody that should know how to control themselves in very difficult situations. I am not saying you weren't getting screwed and shouldn't stand up.... just that having to get pulled out by someone else screams over the top to me.

Keep climbing up that chain and you will find someone that cares. Especially if you have been biased to owning those vehicles... there is someone that cares, it is just that you need to climb up in pay scale a ways before someone actually gets paid enough to care.

It has nothing to do w/ Toyota, Dodge, Ford, Chevy. That a-hole Chrysler dealer you were at may have a Ford store 5 miles away. It is individual.

If you haven't bought yet, PM BC or Summitman. I bought my last 2 vehicles from Summitman. Any Ford dealer within 250 miles of Billings couldn't touch their deal...and they take cash. :face-icon-small-win Who knows, they may have what you're looking for.

Thanks, and you are right it mainly comes down to the individual dealership. I have now put my attention directly on the individual dealer and am going to file a complaint through the CO Dept. of Revenue. The dealership has clearly violated their Dealer advertising rules along with state statute, so hopefully they will be held accountable in some way. The front range of CO is turning into a messed up place w/ some businesses. Even a gun store I have shopped at for years, their service has went in the toilet. It is really sorry what people will do for the almighty dollar.

ruffryder,

Do you try to be an a$$hole, or does it just come naturally??:(:eek:

Snow Fox...why the hell would you want to own a Chrysler? IMO that dealership did you a favor buddy ;)

Right after I got married we went into a car dealership. They wanted the keys to our car so the manager could "look" at it for trade in.

Long story short after deciding against the car I ask for my keys so we can leave. After 20 minutes the salesman comes back and wants to "make a deal". I ask for my keys again and he said the manager still has them. I told him to get my keys or I'm calling the cops. 10 minutes later the manager comes back to make me a "great deal". I told him I would make him a great deal. Give me my keys now and he wouldn't have to spend the night in jail. He didn't like that but when I pulled out my phone and started dialing he changed his tune.

I don't understand how the car dealerships can get away with treating customers like they do. When I go to our local gas station the cashier knows my name and thanks me for coming and most the time gives my kids some penny candy. That is for a $2 transaction. You go to a car dealership ready to spend $5-$40 G's and its a fight from the moment you walk in the door. My wife wont even go into a dealership anymore, it just isn't worth the fight. How can customer service like this not only be accepted but expected. There has to be some good dealerships out there but I sure haven't found one.

Yeah, they probably did do me favor. I am a believer that everything happens for a reason. I am sure there was a reason for this horrible experience and someday in the future I will learn what it was.

I have always been brand loyal to Chrysler, though I drive a Ford for work and the wife drives a Ford. The way this country is now, maybe you can't be brand loyal & only go with the best deal/product/and who treats you the best. Thats what I am starting to think anyway.

I am not bashing any of the bands and not trying to start a flame war but Toyota service and the dealers have always treated me right. When I bring my truck in for service or any type of warranty work it is NEVER a battle at my dealership. I won't go anywhere else and will own another Yota in the near future.

I agree that the front range auto dealers have taken a turn for the worse. You have to understand that prolly 99% of autos sold there are financed, even cars below 5K. New house, auto's, toys, all financed. That is the name of the game on the front range. Dealers don't understand when a person comes in and wants to pay cash. The famous Rocky's won't sell a car without financing. I personally learned that. I wasn't mad at them, I understand that I was in a different situation than most of their customers.

I am fortunate to live in a small town where you personally know the salesman at the dealership. It makes it easier because you both know how full of crap each other is.

i agree here. living in a small town you know the people & sometimes even the vehicles. i've never had a problem with one dealership in our area.

hope he gets what he deserves snow fox.

that sucks snow fox, i'd be pissed too. Usually cash gives the salesmen an urge to drop the price more. But when i bought my truck i had green in my hand because they started to pull this type of crap on me. but when i layed it on his desk and asked who was going to be picking it up, i even got lisc. and tax included.

I would almost say that spending the money to get a ad spot in the paper and say what you need to, would be a good way to let other ppl konw too.
good luck on this
