cant figure out what this damn stuttering is!

did you try adjusting your clickers higher??

i know i ran mine with some terrible clutching and it was pulling 8k all day, changed primary springs which theoreticall dropped like 1200 rpm, still pulling 8k. turbo motors need load to make power, if you dont load it, it wont make power.

so just sounds like you need some more time playing with the box and getting it tuned right?

well i need to know why this occured, because theres basically the fuel adjustment of How much fuel per pound of boost, then some other stuff that comes into play, and i dont have my box maxed out at fuel per pound of boost, and when i did, i was getting stutter, i did try before taking it back a dot or 2, but i guess it was not enough??? today i took it back more and now it runs.... also leaning everything out, and mode 2 like snow4shover said,

so my problem right now is im not rich enough overall in the long run for boost, but does hte sled fuel 7 pounds boost? Yes my judging by how much fuel it was able to some how just pump into it... it probably would hold 9-10 pounds i would guess?,

but yeha, my question is on the box is why did it dump a load of fuel in?, im still too lean for any longer pulls in boost, and i cant go richer with out it wanted to pump alot of fuel in... :\ oh well, heres 3 vids of today if anybody wants to see,

also clicker wise, im not sure if going more clickers would load the engine the same way as more pin weight? other wise i got like what, 4 clickers down i can go?

i brought back my ol turbo 1000 thread, so ill be asking my new questions now for clutching and all that stuff there, since i have figured out this stutter, so check that thread! :)

yes, clickering up adjusts virtually identical to more pin weight, just makes the existing weight push harder. once you get your fueling closer, start clickering towards one and if its still hitting rpm, add more pin weight. they just keep pulling harder and harder till they are overloaded. so once fueled properly, just keep adding more load until it cant handle it, you will be surprised how much more power it has just laying around. also, clutching affects your fueling due to load/demand on the motor, so if its just free revving to easily, trying to fuel properly is a joke.

seems like it runs a LOT better, just needs some more work on the box tuning and to get closer on the clutching.

and as for your fueling, your perception of how it fuels on boost could use some more work. the setup your running can flow enough fuel to run mid teens if not more boost easily. what are your current light positions for each of your modes? just curious as i know this thing could be rather funny being a 1 off setup, just trying to see if anything stands out as wrong as im betting the map chris put in it is rather forgiving.

also, not sure how fast your box cycles the lights but DONT rev the motor before the lights cycle, its when the box is adjusting getting setup for elevation(pressure) if you rev it up then its going to act funny. it looked like in the one video you just started and ripped away.

this is my current mode, it still had some stutter, but if i eased into throttle rather then just bam wide open, it wouldnt stutter and be fine, also it is of course a dobeck performance box, gen 3.5 i believe

Green 5
Yellow 3.5
Red 6.5
Green/Blue 6
Yellow/Blue 5
Red/Blue 7

what that sounds like is your red(topend) is lean if your egts climb to dangerous levels, but your low/midrange, green and yellow, is to rich so you can ease through it and get into the leaner good running top end. but if you whack it it just stumbles. by the looks of your lights, your rich down low(green) so if you ease through it(yellow) then it clears out and you can stab it.

if your just putting around and go WOT, it stumbles yes or no.

what mode, yellow or green are you in when you mash it to make it stumble?

i will have to look into that, it does stumble yes when i just hit it hard, i can be cruising down the trail, and then decide to get off trail go up through this 1 open, and then wack it open boost hits, stutter a bit let off then ease up into it and it works

and as far as mode or lights, well not sure, that would be something for the next ride

my guess is when your stabbing it in green(slow cruising) its way rich and "stutters" aka rich bog. seems like once you get into the yellow its running good and then no problem. watching the videos it seemed like it gurgled a bit when just farting around(green mode) so that would back the idea up.

my advice would be, write your numbers down in case you screw up you have a starting point. while your out riding, find a gentle but decent length hill and work back and for up it making adjustments going slowly through the modes on the box(box displays LED color for mode your in when your riding around) and get them so you can slowly work through them faster and faster running cleanly.
