Just got to thinking about this set-up. Do you have a set of sled dollies sitting around? I would just duct tape the ski tips to the rear bumper. You would have to use a lot of tape to make sure the sleds stayed right behind the vehicle on the curves. Then duct tape the dollies to the sled. You wouldn't want them to fly away on any big bumps along the road. Make sure you use the good duct tape. Some of that cheap stuff doesn't hold up too good when it gets cold.

Why build a deck? Just get a large round of firewood and a couple straps and you'll be fine.

Couldnt you just jack the rear end up by the bumper and then weld the shocks solid? then you wouldnt have to worry about rear suspension sag, thus eliminating the expensive axial drop while saving untold amounts of weight.

The "thingamijigger" is mostly just for loading. The weight is still over the back wheels when sleds are up there. I have the airbags in the garage, just haven't made the time to get them on. Yep.. I get the crazy looks...
