Make sure you use heavy duty casters like this

ok big change in plans. my mom told me i can not do this on her truck. so now i will put this deck on my own trruck 2002 ford sporttrac. i know it is more sporty then the avalanche and may not have the same GVW but i will give it a whirl.

OH man,
I have never heard of a more retarded idea in my life. just sell that P.O.S. and get a real truck, do you want to drive around a mikey mouse p.o.s. the only reason to do that would be to drive around looking stupid.

lol...great thread.. 2 weekends ago I saw a guy loading a sled into the back of a mini truck with a short camper shell.. He literally wedged it into the covered bed diagonally to get it to fit between the wheel wells. Why I didn't take a picture. I will never know.

I'm starting to think it was you.

Hey Blu, what if you made the legs fold under (like a card table), hinged it at the top of the tailgate, and then you wouldn't need a ramp at all?

Abominable, could I place a couple there on the lot in Twin?

While you are at Menard's you should pick up a treated 4x4 post to extend the tongue on your trailer. The tongue probably won't reach your hitch with the deck mounted! Non-treated may work but won't hold up to all the salt they put on the roads in MN.

You have any engine mods on the Ford? You haven't addressed those like you did on your mom's Avy.

the reason mom said no with her truck is that they don't always plow the roads in our trailer park on time and she doesn't want to get stuck driving my sporttrac to walmart for work. sporttrac only has a bumper hitch so i think it will work ok. anchorman if we are going to market these i don't want you to call them legs. use the term tag axial or drop down axial, it sounds better that way

If your going to use your Sporttrac you should put extra air in the tires for the load (can never be too safe). I once heard a guy say he put 100psi in his so that should be fine.

Hey, if they are going to move (on their own or otherwise), maybe we should call it a "floating axle".

Now, what are we going to call it? I want to get some stickers made up and maybe we could get a couple of the guys on this forum who are undiscovered pro's to put them on their sleds and we could sponshur them!!

Put a Powerstroke emblem on the Sportrac so that it will pull the hills better. As for a name to call this engineering marvel....
