Can for 2012 M800

I've got a DTR subscription, and yes, they got 175 on Billy Howards F800 SP using a PC5, Boyesen reeds, 3 degree key, and they dropped in a small piece of flared tubing into the neck of the can where the pipe fits on. This years pipe has a wider stinger lowering back pressure, so they were after more back pressure without replacing any of the pipe/can. They got 5 hp out of the tubing mod. This was all 91 octane trail safe and at an uncorrected 73 degrees. My guess is a can alone with no matching pipe that flows too good may not be all that great for numbers. We'll see.

Thanks for the more detailed description on how they achieved more back pressure, and at 73 degrees to? Impressive for a relatively stock set-up. Buddy also mentioned torque was slightly better with the bone stock set-up. Can you confirm?

How do I get ahold of Scott from HPS? I am curious with what he has to say about his can. Im leaning towards a Bikeman or HPS but would like some more info.

Talked to Scott again today and put my order in for the Hps. They just about got it ready, little more testing on mid range and will be done. He hopes to have all current orders taken care of before Christmas.

Best torque was achieved with a PC5 adding more fuel in the mid, less on top, and adding 3 degrees of timing. The pipe insert added even more, as did the reeds. All with a stock pipe and silencer. I'm going to give Billy a call at Howards inc and see if he has more info on this setup. Might be a nice sleeper way to go if you don't mind the stock setup.

Has anyone heard from skinz yet on there super q or ultra q cans? Ordered a super q can but no information on shipment
Thanks

Id love to hear what he says. This was a setup for drag racing , not sure it would be one you would use i the mountians?

I am leary of these big claims on power from some of these aftermarket companies. Every year you see these big claims yet SLP, which normally has some of the lowest claims on power increase and they always seem to work the best in the real world. I am guessing most of these products have not been tested in the snow. That is why SLP and HPS are always some of the last companies to release their products but are usually spot on once they come out.

Here is the info I received from HPS a few weeks ago.

Weight 4.4 lbs (-16.7 lbs)
Passed the SAE (2567) sound level test @ 88 dbs (4000 RPM test)
Produces the HPS signature sound (sound great, not to loud not to quiet!)
Showing moderate HP gains (+4-6 hp in*the mid, +3 hp on the top end)
Production expected by end of November-first of December
What kind of weight loss is to be expected the HPS can?
