Camoplast Tracks: 2.5" Peak vs. 2.6" Power Claw vs. 3" Challenger Extreme

Got some time on a 156x3" yesterday and I was impressed! Stock sled with some clutching. 2014 800 pro. On the same hill rode my turbo 600 10lbs and a stock track 2012 pro 155. The turbo went much higher on the hill. 3" sled was about 15' below and stocker was a good 30'-40' below the 3".

The 3" track seemed to require more effort to hold a side hill, but nothing to hold a guy back from getting the track.

There was also a pumpish gas 800 163 turbo (8lbs) and it also high marked the 3" track. While it closed the gap a LOT from stock to turbo the turbo still has an edge.

Your not the first to say the Poo is harder to sidehill and carve with 3 inch, On the Doo,s its actually looser carving since it lifts/unweights the skis more, It sounds to me the skid needs adjustments, i know i let limiter strap out and add front skid shox preload, However I have a timbersled skid and can control the lift easily. I do believe its a skid calibration issue,a strong BB /156 and the Turbo gap goes bye bye.

100% agree on skid set up. I wanted to mess with it but it wasnt my sled.

I'm thinking an 858 with 156" 3" (jkinser) may be a fun sled and a bit less $$$ than a turbo

Im running a Doo 880 156/3. Theres no better boondocking setup with the instant hit and traction.. Heres what i see happening, the 3 in track rides high in the snow, The rear of the skid does not dig which allows the whole sled to run flatter and pushes the skis down , let the limiter strap out/add preload ,offsets the sled attack angle.the hill your sled is actually climbing is far less steep since the sled isn't trying to dig out of its own trench, add HP and it will be right there with Turbo.Turbo will excel on the chutes, BB /3 inch in the Boondocking type riding.

I See Anthony Oberti,s been on this thread. Now that Boy can ride, My guess is he,ll be runnin a 156X3 on a 2014 Turbo Pro. Now Ive wiatched him dig and dig before the 3 inch and so far up he was on his own LOL. Put him on a 3 inch and he might be in Big Trouble. jus sayin.:face-icon-small-blu

On the other hand Oberti has some interesting ways to get his sled off the mountain.........:face-icon-small-win

I know it's not a 3" Camo, but who's waiting for the new 3" Power Claw?! I think that's gona be a great track.

I'm waiting for the 3" PC. I was one of the first to order one and it has a back order date of 11/24 for my 153

Horribly overpriced for the new Cat track. We decided to stick w the CE 3" instead of going w the PC for this year.

So everyone's talking about the 3" X3 track. What model would the tracks on the T3 Doo's be called? How do you think the blunt end of the X3 would compare to the saw tooth tipped Doo T3 track?
What's the advantages of the X3 lug over the old challenger extreme style?
What do you guys think would work best on a race gas turboed sled?
Do the X3's fold over under boost?...
My sled is a TSS 12 M8 153 with a 2.5 camo extreme on it right now. Newer style with flat lug tips not saw tooth tips.

Thanks
Dustin

the Camo X3 is very similar to the 2.5, tips extend further and do bend a tad more but only at the tip.will handle boost easily

Awesome info thx. How do you think the new Doo 3 inch will compare to the X3 under boost?
Trying to get the best all around track for my sled.
Cheers
