Hey ya hoser. . .called you the other day. . .no answer. . .must have caught you during your cherished tunnel polishing time. . .you know. . .when you whisper sweet nothings into the intake. . .tenderly rub down those smooth lines . . .this Sat I am venturing into the dark deep forest. . .boldly going where no apex has gone before. . .game?

.

Hey If I challenge on the Dragon 8 you may just have a chance. maybe we should gather over there in Idaho again, I think we made headlines cause I still get an occasional pm from a spud now and then asking when we're coming back.

Got Clownsuit?

Clown suit. . .probably needs ironed. . .its still in a wad in the corner where I threw it a few years back. . .might have to rub the stain stick in the crotch area after the last ride. . .got a bit out of hand. . .other than that. . .its ready to rock. . .I was thinking of more of a low profile ride. . .would take you into a few parts of the 383 national reserve. . .a guided tour. . .

[/QUOTE]Long time---no talky 383!!! not all of us forgot about cha, but did ya ever get yur fatwife on a diet and uPgrade that old sofa of yurs!

Spud. . .ya know. . .I can't really upgrade the couch that much as the Fleetwood is only 13 ft wide. . .I did have to crawl under the spider infested mess this summer to install a few more cinder blocks as the floor was starting to sag. . .other than that. . .pretty much the same. . .except for the occasional plugged toilet. . .the wife is. . .well. .. lets just say "she's alota woman". . .

383:

So I'm clear:

You eliminated what may have been the most "original" seat seat ever on a sled to go to a BOSS seat? Are you mad?

Be carefull. Next you'll want a Holz rear end, Ole's riser, Ohlins shocks, and a cover to keep her pretty.

Some folks including "senior members" have no freaking sense of humor on this new forum which makes it even more fun. Better have thick skin to talk your old talk, or you stand no chance on here now. The new forum is a place for serious talk.

Does that fancy new heavy (+.469) boss seat mean your softening up, or can you still throw down?

Oh I can still throw down fine. . .the biggest psychological issue that I have had to work to over come is this. . .by having a nice boss seat. . .some may start to think that I actually care what the 383 looks like. The other issue is that the old Rhino seat would callus up my cheeks. . .which my wife would sand off with an orbital. . .120 grit built to much heat. . .180 is about right. . .which in turn would usually lead to other bedroom activities. . .now with a soft seat. . .this tradition has been lost. . .I am still not sure if its worth it or not. . .

I love watching that vid. Don't know whats more impressive, the fact that it climbs that well, or that 383 can ride it on the way down!!!!:eek::D:beer;

Don't worry 383, I'm keeping the fuggly seat movement afloat.

Any suggestions?

NICE! I like. . .that says nothing but "function". . .and not to bad of looking function either. . .which is border line 383 material. . .maybe a couple of nice strips of duct tape from the tunnel up and over the top would help the 383 factor. . .

that is kinda fugly wade. You got design plans you'd be willing to share?

I just cut out two of the half moon pieces with the semi-circle holes in them, then bent a piece of aluminum over the top and welded all the way around. (all 0.060" aluminum) Then just shaped it to fit over the gas tank with plenty of clearance. Welded an extra gusset under the canter lever brow over the gas tank, for support. Put a piece of plastic edge protector over the sharp edge above the gas tank (got the plastic off a band saw blade shipping protector), don't need any holes in the gas tank.

Then glued seat foam (get the stiffer foam) to the aluminum with 3M spray on glue for car interiors, shaped with a electric turkey knive, and wrapped some -40 degree vinyl over the top of it all, and secured with snowmobile pop rivets.
