BYU - FSU Game

Are we back to BYU co-ed jokes?

Like:

How do you get two BYU co-ed's into an elevator? Grease their hips and throw in a pizza....

Why did BYU outlaw the black one piece swim suit? Too many harpoonings...

oh, and congrats to DW and MN Nole. It must of been one hell of an after party.:beer;

Thanks Boss,
I had on heck of a time at the game. I for one never saw that outcome. Most everyone I was with, saw it as a shoot out with the last one with the ball winning. But FSU came in with a game plan, To keep the BYU's offense off the field. And it worked. The defensive stops helped once we took the lead, the defensive was able to play a differant game.

One thing I will say, BYU fans and Alumni could not have been better hosts for this game, before and after. I look forward to next years match up in Tallahassee, hopefully some will make the trip, so that we can return the favor.

Pics to follow later as I have to still get them uploaded.

As for Utah, they are a mediocre, rebuilding team! They have a lot of room for improvement! Looks like Andy Ludwig wasn't as bad as so many Utah fans may have thought...eh.

They will be really good next year.
I actually thought the play calling was good (except the last play of the first half) Im digging the no huddle and short passing games.

I did note however that the EXECUTION of those plays was terrible. Cain has yet to throw a good ball past 10 yards, and the development of the option run plays is entirely TOO SLOW. Defense kept Utah in that game.

sat next to cam jensen at the game and he was calling out every defensive play. byu rarely defended as he called it. you could tell he was very embarrassed. i've never been so bored in my life. expected much more.

Although BYU better not look past Florida State. Florida State may not look good, but when you have good athletes, $hit can come together and they could put the hurt on BYU. If they can put pressure on Max Hall, you may as well call it a day!!

Did I get it right or what?? :D

BYU will still have a great season, but I think you will see him struggle again against Utah and TCU.

Wide receiver speed + zone defense = bad match-up

In order for BYU to take the next step defensively, they need some good cover guys that can play man defense. The only way to beat the spread is to play man and pressure the $hit out of the QB!!

Actually that isnt even what killed BYU this weekend. BYUs DBs actually did a decent job. What killed BYU is that the Dline and linebackers were absolutely man handled by the FSU offensive line. They couldnt shed blocks and plug the gaps. They were dominated the entire game. Not the mention none of them even knew how to tackle. Second the Offensive gameplan was absolutely genius for FSU. And they executed it perfectly.

Ponder had all the time he wanted to survey the field. I dont care how good your deensive backs and safties are when you give a good QB that long they will find an open man.

It was very frustrating to watch to say the least. I dont think this game was on Max Hall one bit. He threw some picks but he was just tryin to get out of the hole they were in. He actually had a decent game. This one on the defense. I think the defense can play better than they did this weekend but they are definetally not as good as people thought they were.

I think we lose to TCU again this year but at least this time we will make it respectable. But I do think we beat Utah this year in LES.

I agree. I wish BYU could recruit some players quick enough the we could play man coverage. A mix of Zone and man coverage would be good but BYU just doesn't have the speed to play man.

Im still excited for the season. I love college football

BYU's defense was a no show! I agree that they were not able to control the gaps, and FSU's linemen, on both sides of the ball, were much smaller, just faster. Last time I saw, and heard, the BYU faithful this cocky was the year
Detmer won the Heisman. He came out that day and was crushed by Hawaii. Then, there was complaining about playing a lesser ranked Texas A&M in their bowl game. Detmer finished that game with 2 separated shoulders! That left a mark! ;)

I think cougar nation was much more cocky last year than they are this year.

I learned this a few year ago though, BYU is always good to let you down at least once per season. So I try not to be a part of the cocky group.

Oh ya....you're right! That was the "Quest for 3rd" season! ;)

another game that bronco and the coaches didn't have them prepared for.

2 gamechangers that would have made this game at least close:

chambers fumble on opening drive.
no call on the pass interference pick six

and i didn't watch the game but as well as they were running the ball there HAD to be some holding going on.

I hate that there are conference orriented officials. that needs to change.
