Bush - bad guy, or screwed by America's short attention span?

statement of fact is not an entitled statement

definitely don't disrespect farmers

and you are a government worker huh?

Your statement of fact is eluding to something more, Mr. Smart One. Why did you bring up that statement of fact? What was your motive behind your statement of fact. Ya see....I look at people's intentions and motives. It is what I do. You sounded like a 5 year old..."I have been here longer than you." "I have ridden longer than you." You don't think when a kid says that they are acting entitled about something. You just exhibited the exact same behavior.

...and yes you just disrespected farmers by calling me a redneck farmer boy.

Yup sure am a government worker and damn proud of what I do! ...but I don't need to justify anything I do to someone that has been on this earth as long as you and is still ignorant.

This is it!

ummm....

the Clinton administration, in 1999, loosened the restrictions on borrowing to allow risky lending to low income borrowers. This opened a floodgate of lending which caused the real estate bubble. Greater demand caused housing prices to increase. When interest rates increased in the past few years, and energy costs went up the bubble burst as people started to default on the loans, which caused a increase in the supply of houses. With too few buyers home values dropped below the cost of the mortgages and people walked away and Fanny and Freddie could not guarantee the huge losses, and lending institutions failed and the market hemorrhaged. Something that George Bush warned of in 2003.

Even back in the Carter administration the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) of 1977 demanded banks lend throughout the communities they serve and required them to offer loans to people who were not credit worthy.

Now we have to pay $700 billion to cover this little bit of social engineering that occured when democrats held the presidency.

Keep in mind that congress has been democrat for 2 years. What change did we vote for? I think status quo for the last two.

Karl

Yes, they put the first nail in the coffin, by urging Freddie and Fannie to give out bad loans(arms) to Folks that really couldn't afford them and now they are working at fixing the mistake they made.Who pays? WE DO! As far as Industry goes, we are now beginning to feel the effects of Clinton's NAFTA(simple to see). To think that GWB had realtime effects on every thing and just "drove the country to the ground" is silly.
It is always this B.S. cycle of cause and effect:

The Republicans hold office and put into effect some policies.

The democrats take hold of Gov. and the policies that the Reps. put into place begin to effect the nation and things seem good, so credit goes to the Dems.
The Republicans win back the Gov. and the Democrats policies begin to take effect and things are bad so it is the republicans fault.

We know good and bad dicisions take time to effect anything, We are feeling the effects of Bill Clinton and the Dem. Congress.

Bill Clinton took credit for Ronald Reagan and GeorgeH.W. Bush's Presidency. Boy!, if we could have Ronald back.
G.W.B. is taking the crap from Bill Clinton's Presidency.

But, as you know we can go on and on and get Pi**ed and drink more beer and it ain't going to do no good. These liberals and going to keep on pushing this country farther from the truth(GOD) and striving for power.

We here in the Pacific N.W. will continue striving for POWDER!

So come on guys, the one beloved thing that we all have in common is snow, mountains, season change, and the ones that love us.

I have been Pi**ed off all week and seeing everyone hear Pi**ed off is giving me a better attitude...I am not alone. Let's pray for a better tommorrow and not let all this nonsense get the best of us, We have lives to live and people to lead. Let us try to be patient and see what happens with this guy. There is nothing we can do now but stick together as Americans and hold the rope of freedom our forefathers gave us. Toast:beer;:beer;:beer;

Oh Yeah! Bush... good guy,Screwwed by Americans short attention span! just my opinion, and we all know about opinions!

war crimes?

Little ol Dennis Kucinitch wants to prosecute,so does code pink, Kieth Oberman and your garden variety pack of freak shows. They want the President's..oops former President Bush's head on a stick. The cast of defendants are President Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld, Gonzales as of now.

I'm sure that in the coming weeks we'll all hear about this.. The libs will no dought sell this as a public demand and media will happily play along. Hell it would make for good ratings and would quench their thirst for more blood.
I would suggest that everyone pays attention to this carefully. Those that want this to proceed with charges, trials and imprisonment are going to be responsible (in my estimation) for this country tearing itself to pieces for good.
Some of these idiots are so hell bent..they state that Obama is complicit as well if he doesnt prosecute. Surely these demented morons have thought this through? Theres much more to this story like other countrys being able to sue and prosecute the former President.

I find that a prosecution is unlikely however it's noteworthy to keep an eye on who and what organizations want this to happen.

Bunch of a$$ clowns! It must be their payback for the impeachment of Clinton or just simply being liberal douches with nothing better to do...they definitely don't know how to be productive and do something productive to help this nation.

I swallowed hard and voted for Bush twice (what else could you do with Gore & Kerry as choices), but I found myself counting down the days until he got the hell out of office. His presidency has been terrible and he has left this nation circling the drain. I'm sure he is a nice fella and a good ole boy, but he is was an abysmal president!

I don't know how he can call himself a conservative and keep a straight face considering the outrageous spending and debt that he has presided over and that his policies have helped foster. It's not all his fault but he has to take his share of the blame.

I didn't vote for Obama, but he can hardly do worse than what Bush has done. Actually, I think that we've gone so far off the rails that I doubt anything other than the inevitable market forces kicking our a$$ can bring us back to a sane path. That is going to involve a lot of pain and a big reduction in our standard of living. I don't know what it will be like but it will be ugly!

One thing is pretty evident after THE ONE'S first full day in office. You all are going to have to learn to speak French.

We are in the worst recession in 30 years or more, he starts out with 150 million dollar party. Wonder what he will spend next week? Worse than my ex-wife.

One problem I see, is that a lot of the Obama crowd needs to remember......the bank doesn't accept "hope" as mortgage payment....they may accept "change," but you'll need a lot of it :D

Oh! he's even going to save the wolves... he's got all the bases covered!

shut down the solitary confined detention centers so the suspect terrorists can communicate w/ the outside world and conduct business as usual.

I thought this was a Bush thread, we will have lots of opportunities to go after Obamama in the near future, he will make sure of that. My .02 on Bush.
The Repubs got the congress in 94 with a contract they did a fair job of living up to for 4 years before they began to relax their efforts as they began to let the power go to their heads, as all who go to DC seem to do ans they began loosing their base. When Bush took over instead of leading the congress back to the conservative ideals he tried to work with the dems, Kennedy etc and began spending like a drunken sailor democrat, that is why the dems made such huge inroads in the congress in 2004 and why they basically took control in 2008. Financially speaking I consider Bush no better than the democrats. With that said I have been and still support his war on terror actions and his actual love of the military and the warriors who serve.
The financial problems we face are actually the fault of the entire federal government Reps, Senators, and president almost all, dem or rep did anything but work to enhance their own future and the country sent all of those lying crooks back to DC, go figure!!
With all that said I am glad he is back in Texas but it is to bad we were stuck with that repubican as our candidate insuring Obamama the victory. Swampy:mad::mad::face-icon-small-sad

I think the tide turned on him with the wmd thing. If I recall correctly, he had a 70% approval rating going into IRAQ. When they didn't find what they thought was there it became a quest to install a democracy. That is a freakin tall order anywhere, and for that region no less. His approval went way down then. It's too bad 9/11 happened during his presidency. Makes me wonder what else he could have done with his time. Clinton would have lobed a few missles and called it a day like thats all it takes.

G Dub II was a great president. maybe not perfect but somone hands you a bag-o-poop and you have to deal with it. As for short attention span does ANYONE remember Mr. Clinton and his .40 rule allowing lenders to only have 60% of the loan amount in reserve rather than the 92% prior.

Can you say screw the country in the long run... I wish G Dub would have changed it. maybe he could have stopped this crap 7-8 years ago.????
