Building a steel sleddeck!?

I have also been planning on building one but I am not sure where to start...... One question, how do you get it to stay in the bed? Thanks

Can you just set the (headache rack)sled deck you are biulding on the box rails or do you have to have legs installed.

Don't do that! Last one I saw done that way destroyed his truck box before the winter was over.

Almost perfect. The only thing I'd add is side rails about 10" high to help you avoid driving off the side of the deck while loading. Learned that one the hard way!

I designed a rack for a guy about 10 yrs ago that attach to the goose neck ball in the bed. Placed metal casters on the four corners. Placed two C channel rails that laid in the bed and built a stand that sat in his driveway on the side of his garage. Remove the tail gate. Back up to his stand. With his sleds on the rack he would electric winch it on to his stand. Or winch it in to his truck.

He does not live around here anymore. He came out and rode with me this last winter. He is still using it with his Apex and Nytro.

I know I have pics some were. I may even have the CAD design. But it was along time ago.
