Bragging about an avy??

so why the bs...why the creation of an illusion of what was said or the intent etc..it all starts with the person who starts the thread...is like he stood in front of a door and everyone assumed the door was locked and stood behind him...sometimes folks you just got to try the door yourself...it may be open...!!!!!

Im not here to bash anyone or call anyone stupid. Are the actions stupid? HMMMM I am not assuming anything...their attitude is very apparent in that video. "I bet he is checking his shorts." I could quote them all day. The attitude is alarming! I am not assuming 4 avies happened that day....that is a fact he stated....like I said it would take one for me and I wouldn't be on a risky slope again...period!

You don’t think its a little crazy not getting out of there after the first Avy? Why take chances like that? I love to hit the step hills with fresh powder but I love to come home even more.

Of course I do, the first triggered ones were VERY small, I would hesitate to even call them AVY's more like sluffs of snow less than 12" deep and sliding maybe 15'. Nonetheless we left the area and checked out the smaller hills on different facing slopes and felt the area was a safer option as we did not see any snow failure in there. Like I've said earlier in the thread HAD we felt the area we were in was HIGH risk we would NOT have been there. We all make mistakes and I consider it a blessing that the situation turned out how it did.

Despite your words to me...I am glad you guys are ok too!

Some of the right things were said, but if the conditions were bad and they new it, they still played with fire. No-one was hurt or killed this time, but far too many have been. Four was three too many. I too am a true sled head, nothing more, but I've never heard any of my friends who have been inviolved in an avy talk about it in such a light manner. I'm not flaming these guys, I just want to know why the ****in news got involved! Thats where this went over the line for me...

Trust me this was never intended to be on the news! The guy from CBC or whoever phoned him and said they WERE going to be putting the clip on the news and asked BCA if he wanted to comment on it or not. They somehow got his name from Youtube and looked him up in the phonebook. BCA made comments about the conditions and that he was prepared to be in the back-country, unfortunately it has turned into this mess:confused:

ok im signing off...i support these guys..i think things are getting out of control....i apolgize if i said anything to offend anyone in my energetic defense of them when a defense i feel is not required...my apologies mountainslut cause i know from all your other posts in the other forums you have heart and undying believes in right and wrong ...any personnel innuendo i pleasingly retract...ok night guys...

:beer;:beer; ...no hard feelings here...have a good one.

I didn't pick up that BCAJ was disrespecting from that vid, just pizzin on the devil, like we all do when we get away with something. For backcountry riders it's about pushing it and taking risks. Maybe that was a little extreme, but I wasn't there and don't know the situation. He!!, I like the rush of punching up a hill and the risk that things may not go the way I expect. Wouldn't be all that much fun if some risk wasn't involved. If BCAJ needs to hit that $hit to get a rush, then rock on bro. Sledding is about freedom to do what the flock you want with nobody pullin you over. Lord knows, we're all hemmed in and stifled everywhere else. He wasn't overtly endangering anyone else. It's his life to live as he wants and to witch hunt him on here is hypocritical. He is obviously very well prepared to handle the chit, so let him pull the flocking cork and quit imposing your perceptions of responsible behavior on him. Sure, there are concerns about affecting other people, but I don't know his situation. The gift of a life is our's to do with what we will. Live your's the way you want and be satisfied with that. He got some bad press here, but the guys climbing monster at revy are all good??? You think that's safe? lmao Green for the crazy motherflocker's that push the envelope and keep us all entertained. No, I won't be climbing monster anytime soon, but I'm not so insecure that I need to put them down for "questionable behavior". Lighten TFU.

TY for your support BUSHMASTER
Avalanches are accidents, not done on purpose.
dont worry folks, that got my attention.
i will be more carefull.
thank you.:face-icon-small-coo

Mother nature can be a biatch!!! she does not care!!! all we can do is try to deal with it as best we can. I don't care if peeps brag, cry, or just thank god they are alive. I'm just glad to hear that some peeps tangled with the mountain and won, instead of another "condolence" post.
we play on a dangerous battle ground, and there is going to be some casualties from time to time. how do you guys that are flaming know that these guys didn't set off the first slide, decide to get off the mountain, and set the rest off trying to get out? how do you know it wasn't a life or death struggle to get out?
come on guys, aren't we all on the same team here, team "snowest".
let's crack a beer and put this thread to bed!!

AMEN Brother:D

I have set off avys in the 10 years that I have been riding, but I now have alot more respect for the power of some of these slides. After the first slide, you guys should have altered your riding for the day. After the second slide, you should have realized the avy danger was very high and altered your riding for the day. After the third, well you guys are just being stupid. As for the fourth slide????? Your total disregard for the conditions shows arrogance and stupidity. Sooner or later that attitude will get somebody hurt or killed.

Yes sir.
sorry.
we've been playing with boost.
i got too comfortable~ ate too much fruit.
Being extra carefull from now on.

It takes a man to eat some humble pie and be accountable for his actions. ;)

However, you don't need to apologize to us. Just try to help educate others that are less experienced and don't really know the threats of avies. I know when I started to ride a long time ago I had no clue about avies and I was completely unaware of the dangers. I wish someone had taken me aside and educated me. It would have saved some grief! ;) Take it easy. Glad you guys are ok.

K that makes it better in my eyes, sorry for the misunderstanding, I just assumed that you guys were responsible for it getting there. Greens for ya.:beer;

Got a nice shiny red apple for my comments and a sarcastic thank you. I'd fire back but I couldn't do any more to damage his reputation than he's already done to it himself. Oh well, no public defense tells me he has none. No habits were changed here but maybe someone else reading these posts thinks it's less cool to mock avy's.

Maybe you havent read the rest of thread but what more do you want from the guy? He defended himself and apologized to those he had offended. Let it rest already:rolleyes:
