Their people that work the borders need a life. If you take your sled up to Canada make sure you have the title and bill of sale. At the border they had time to give us hours of **** so that I missed my plane from Cranbrook to Toronto; which cost their Canadian owned company 890 U.S dollars. My wife was staying behind to possibly look for property to buy to have another place I could ride from. I guess they don't need our money, but need our miltary to protect them. I like Canadian people but their government leaves room for improvement. I own and operate American and Canadian research companies. Periodically I fly to Toronto to help a pubilcally owned company that is working towards a signifcant reduction of green house gasses. Moral of the story, keep your money here in the U.S.A.

Hmm. I always bring sled paperwork crossing the border. It's common sense. And who is your military protecting us from? We have a fine military, and it's working to help defeat your enemies in Afghanistan. Many Canadian soldiers have died and continue to die for what is, for all intents and purposes, an American cause.

Mr. Doc needs to look in the mirror to see the problem. For every "boo hoo I got hassled at the Canadian border story", there's a "I got hassled at the US border story". I know a Chiropractor from California who had a busy practice for years who ended up stuck in Canada after a sledding trip because the US border said his paperwork wasn't in order.....stuck here for MONTHS. He eventually SNUCK across the border to get home.

It's been 6+ years since I have crossed the border to enjoy Canada. I quit going because of the BS on the US side getting back home. Just simply wasn't worth the US interrogation anymore. Things must have changed on the Canadian side since then. All the past entrances I made into Canada were always easy but to the point. Always felt like they were glad to see me visit. It was the US side that was always the nightmare. I guess this is one more reason not to go.
