Boondocker kit for AXYS

I don't know how to keep saying this but wow. I think this is the best purchase I've ever made in my life haha. Went up yesterday and there was a good 2 feet or more in some spots of powder. Not much of a base in most areas but it was a good time regardless. And all I can say is wow. I'll never go back to riding a stock sled. The sled ran amazing all day. This just made snowmobiling that much more fun. The throttle response and power is awesome I think this kit is the perfect boondocking kit out there. There was this Area that had to have had 3+ feet of fresh and I went through it and all of a sudden the terrain dropped about a foot or two like onto a cat walk and right in front of me was a snow bank of tons of snow(you know the ones we always try to go up and usually end up stuck on a deep day on the stock sleds) well I thought let's see what this thing can do went right through it and just kept on going up through the trees. I'm so impressed with the sled and the kit. I didn't get any videos but I will this weekend was too busy riding and smiling from ear to ear all day to stop. I don't know how else to say that I absolutely think this "base kit" is going to be a winner in the backcountry for the guys who want a nice reliable pull and go turbo sled that has the power to go wherever you want with still being manageable to go in the trees and not ride out of control. Also it's pretty nice not having to mess with any tuning the tuning is spot on!

You can go to a dealer and get a new map loaded to it. But its pretty spot on.

Also, I said go easy on the roads! :face-icon-small-ton I know its difficult

It was extremely difficult to take it easy on the road especially when that was the first time for me haha.

How did the throttle response compare to stock?
Any issues at all lets say punching it from a dead stop?
Does it utilize the stock oil pump for lubrication?
How much weight did it add?

Thanks for the great review of the kit. The vids sure make it look like it the turbo sled actually has better throttle response on burandt's sled.

The throttle response is awesome I haven't noticed any lag I'm sure there's a little but not enough to make me realize it. Yes it does use the stock oil pump for librication. I'm not sure how much weight it added. The videos that burandt posted are how this kit is running.

Where are your videos?

I need to get some uploaded

Cant wait to see them... Did you happen to get some video on Go Pro in tight technical, stop and go terrain? On off throttle, or idle to full pin? That is what I wanna see, they all run good at WOT, I am real curious how clean these things run in bad situations right from BD.

No offense but just because Burandts runs the way it does I don't think the kit we would buy straight from BD is gonna run the same as his. I know what it would cost us as the consumer to have that kit installed/setup like Burandts and it is nowhere near $3,995. I wanna see what comes directly from BD for $3,995 that the average Joe installs in his garage runs like.

Thanks

I have not. Until about last week we didn't have good snow in Utah. The first day I really rode it there was probably close to 3 feet with no base didn't really get on any steep technical terrain. The most technical was weaving through some trees in a meadow so nothing crazy at all. But I was impressed with going pretty slow to hammering it and the response of the kit. I'm hoping to get out this weekend and I'll see what I can get as far as video and hopefully get a full ride report. I'm certainly not disappointed with the kit.

Today I finally got to ride my sled on an all out ride. Again all I can say is wow I'm so impressed with the sled and the turbo. I'm still trying to get used to the new chassis believe it or not it is different then the pro. In the trees the turbo is perfect. Like I've said before the power is there when you need it but doesn't feel out of control. Going from a dead stop to needing to get on the throttle the sled and turbo react perfectly. I started to feel extremely comfortable as the day went on and got into some pretty steep and deep snow in the trees. ive got some pictures I'll upload soon but no video I'll get some next time sorry guys! I'm so impressed with how this sled does climbing and how well this sled does in tight technical terrain. Such a blast riding through the creeks and ravines! This sled and kit are going to be a game changer it's the perfect amount of boost for a bad a$$ boondocking sled which is exactly what I was hoping for! I don't need 12lbs of boost for the type of riding I do! Hope this helps with anyone considering getting this kit and I will do my best to get some video next time. I don't regret making this purchase and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a turbo! Oh yeah the sled ran spot on all day.

How long did it take to do the install? Any cutting on the sled?

What were you running for rpm? What elevation ? Temp?
Track ?

I'm also running tbe side kick on axys 163 3", pulling 8600-8750 rpm at 7000ft 10 degrees
Seems to high to me. Feels like it going to self destruct. Running to good!!!
