Boondocker kit for AXYS

I was told only to run 91 octane with the new sidekick, just passing on

Boondocker is also selling a fuel additive made by VP for boosting octane.

They said they've had great results. Ends up being $10 a tank but increases octane considerably.

I would be a little leary of this stuff. I ran some klotz stuff that was similar years ago. I was at Cooke and had a whole can in and was hitting my det sensor. I could pour 2 gallons of av in and run more boost and not hit it all day. Plus av gas is cheaper. I just got it because it was easier to take on trips. A 16 ounce can was supposed to boost you to 104. You would think boondockers would know but they are making money on it.

With VP making race fuels... I have more confidence in them... but hey...I've been wrong before.

.

The possibility that it is snakeoil could exist... I guess we'll see how it sorts itself out.

I'm hoping it is a good product with real results.

Your not suppose to need anything but 91 with the side kick kit though right

Depends, if you like to live dangerously!?

Something I just heard, but never considered, regarding fuel fill ups was if you don't ride long days and top off with 2, 3, 5 gallons at a time, there's a good chance you're getting .5 -.75 gallon of 85 octane that's left in the station fuel line at the beginning of every 91 octane fill up. After doing this a few times you can easily get down into the high 80's.

Yup always heard that also, it makes sense when you think about distance from the valves to the pump handle... I drive a gas pickup and alway put the first two gallons in my truck our in a can.

Actually I believe this is what happened to me the other day... I drive a diesel truck and forgot my spare can to put suspect fuel from the hose into. Just filled up with the one hose that shares and levels of octane. Had DET that day. Haven't since or before.

there is no way theres .5 to .75 of a gallon in there even if there was and you did it say 4 times thats only two gallons @ 85 mixed with 91 thats still 90 act i would suspect something else

Yeah maybe... It's a gas station I don't often use either. Although they do advertise non-eth. The next ride I had on the gas I am familiar with it ran perfect. So I believe it was bad gas. Time will tell. 5 rides and it's been sweet.
