Big iron shootout

Just got back to a computer (went to fernie snow drags, where were all you fast guys just about won the mod class?). Yea, could flag those areas,
I imagine it would be friday afternoon powder puff, so any of our survey/ construction buddies that have some bundles of staking to donate, call me at 403-938-0930 or toll-free at 1-866-938-0930 as to drop point either in Calgary or drop off at Days Inn in Revy. so any volunters, call me or pm me. And another idea PP, is if some one could make up a educational sheet handout, on what a cutback and the implications of riding in them. Would be great to hand out to guys as they ride by. my 2cents.

Dusty this offer still open?
If so if you guys could flag on the Veideman trail from the over town lookout 2 km. up both sides to the top of the block it would be great. Doesn`t have to be continuous just give everyone the general idea. Another area of concern is the blocks on the Bezanson before where the Kirkup hooks up. If everyone could just stay on the trail through this area is would be great. Thanks.
People are telling me they don`t know what a cut block is.
A cut block is an area of the mtn. that has had the the trees harvested and after the areas are replanted. The young trees are the concern, riding over the tops of them breaks or damages the young trees and they don`t grow into a harvestable product.

Randy & I are in town this week to do a little riding and help set up. We were expecting to flag the cut blocks on Thursday and to be available to help with other flagging and signage on Friday.
Anyone that wants to help out can give us a call - 403-860-9944. Meet y'all there!
Hoping that we can all work together to have a fun weekend in a great mountain community, clean up after ourselves, take care of an awesome riding area and be welcome back in the future. If everyone pitches in, it shouldn't be too hard! :D:beer;

You might have a hard time getting a "refer" truck across the boarder. I guess, Cheech and Chong did on the Mexican boarder, if you've ever seen Up In Smoke. Lol :beer;

My weather predictions

Thursday 100% chance of waking up to early and driving a long a$$ way. With the over night low of an empty 5th of Crown

Friday; 100% chance of fun and beer. Again an overnight low of an empty fifth of Crown.

Saturday; 50% chance of carnage and partly clouded vision. Overnight low of Captains and Coke.

Sunday; 100% chance of hangover. With a long a$$ drive for the low.

Please be advised that the Snowmobile Revelstoke Society has a maximum capacity policy in effect as per our Management Agreement and Operating Plan for the 2008 / 2009 season. Three years ago the Board of Directors for the Snowmobile Revelstoke Society recognized the need to determine a maximum capacity due to the constraints of parking and environmental impact. The need to park safely, legally and to be prepared in case of an emergency is vital to the success of the Society. It is the intention of the Board of Directors to provide a quality trail system for the enjoyment and safety of all snowmobilers and to support the sport of snowmobiling in an environmentally responsible manner.

Therefore, the Snowmobile Revelstoke Society will accept vehicles for parking up to capacity of the parking lots as determined by onsite parking attendants and or the manager. Excess vehicles will be turned away and the parking lots closed. A maximum of 1000 trail passes will be sold between all booth locations. This includes the Main Parking Lots at Boulder, Frisby and the West Entrance.

In regards to the Big Iron Shoot Out. The Society recognizes that this event has been planned for the 2008 / 2009 season. The Board of Directors feel that in order for the operations of the Society to be a success we need to work within our financial and staffing constraints as well as to follow the Mission and Vision Statements of the Society. The Directors are concerned that this event could potentially impact our Management Agreements and therefore have decided to not be involved at this time. We will manage the parking and grooming as we normally would.

THE MAXIMUM CAPACITY POLICY WILL BE IN EFFECT.

Trail passes cannot be purchased ahead of time and it will be on a first come first serve basis only. Please understand that the Snowmobile Revelstoke Society is simply trying to protect our operations, our management agreements as well as trying to keep riding areas open for years to come.

1000 passes sold and what about people that have a year pass.I dont think you can fit enough trucks with big trailers to add up to 1000 riders can you?Its going to get ugly I figure.

Seeing as the Saturday will be sold out I've talked to the town council. The Big Iron finals will be held on Sunday. We will be at Turbo Mountain at "high" noon rock, paper, scissors. So seeing as how the club and the society are going to do such a great job at parking everyone, just leave your trucks in the parking lot because we'll be sledding again on Sunday. And for those that dont make it up on Saturday, they have an opportunity to see the world class rock, paper, scissors showdown at Turbo. There will be 3 from the USC, and there will be 3 from the Big Dawg, and 5 exemptions plus 1 robin hood and his married men. "Lapp" your butt off! More details to come. So when you buy your pass on Saturday, see if you can get your pass for Sunday too. And don't even think about checking out of your hotel room on Sunday morning. I will be throwing out free swag at Turbo Mountain - goggles, hoodies, hats.

Angie, Thank you to the SRS and the board for all your efforts to look after snowmobiling in Revy. We do appreciate the tough spots that you get put into.

The rules are set for good reasons, we can still have fun while staying within the lines.

Love you lots. :)

Guys! When you come down on Friday and Saturday, on your snowmobile, stop and park your sled before you cross the bridge. I know myself, from past experiences, I've ran out of gas at 10:30 at night, and had no extra fuel at my truck. So I left my sled 1km before the bridge. I didn't return that same evening and came back the next day, refreshed and vibrant from the excellent service at Zalas and the comfortable beds from the monashee and the Days Inn. Then, when I went to the booth the next day around 11:00(Tim Hortons in hand- roll up the rim to win, and a 10 pack of strawberry filled powder puffs!) to pay for another day. The attendant asked me where my sled was. I told the attendant that I had run out of gas and was going to fill it back up. The attendant said, that technically, you haven't come down from the night before. I said "yes." I became dilusional; I thought I was talking to the RCMP. The attendant, in their orange outfit said, well then you don't have to buy another lift pass if you're going back up. I said "come on." The attendant said, "it's a day pass. What time did you get on the hill?" I said, "I'm not sure, some time around 3." At this point I was stricken with guilt and my thumb started to pulsate as I knew I was getting closer to my snowmobile, so I looked in my pocket and I had found a 20 american. I said "Here ya go, here's a donation to the club or the society." To this day I still can't figure out how I was so lucky to meet such wonderful people at the boulder parking lot, and the friendliness of the town.
